Born and raised in Zagreb, my family is from here too.. never in my life have I eaten burek for breakfast... can't imagine it! that is way to greasy and heavy. Personally never even liked burek. dont know any other people who ever are it for breakfast. I do know few ppl that like to buy it at 4 am when going home after night of drinking but that's about it lol. it's something we say to tourist it's "traditional" but it doesn't even come form Croatia lol. the people you see aroudn you eating it probably had a craving for it after not trying it for months. it's not standard

I didn't know that Pasty's are English. I've gotten them in Northen Michigan before (Traverse City). Even the leftovers looked pretty good. Now I'm hungry.

Yes, pasties are originally from Cornwall, England, but they have become popular in various parts of the world, including Northern Michigan. They're delicious! Thank you for commenting! 😊

Ako želite kvalitetan burek u Zagrebu, odite na Trešnjevački plac Kod Nene se zove lokal. Tamo vam je najbolji burek u Hrvatskoj!

It is a shame we missed. We are vegans now! Do you know any vegan ones? Thanks for commenting

@@tjandbtraveling Pa imate bureke od svega, nije burek samo od mesa. Ne znam nikakve veganske restorane, nisam vegan.

There are many great Croatian food dishes that you tried. But Slovenia has the best štrukli. I my self drive from Zagreb to Ljubljana just to get some really good štrukli. :)

In Croatia, we have only one type of pancakes, pancaces and crepes are all the same for us
@tjandbtraveling Жыл бұрын
Yea, that makes sense, we didn't have any thick pancakes there (unless there were specified... maybe)

Best burek is on the stairs to Dolac market. And this bakery with francise names like Dubravica, Mlinar, Pan pek etc. throw out of the town good old family bakery. It was very sad when i found out that in Klaićeva 10 years ago one of the last close. This new bakery are all with the same tast and and with all that many choices but actualy very poor in taste. Siptari in Zagreb ačthough have some good bakery.
