Can't thank you enough. Spent hours installing software that claimed it was free only to find out they charge. For you, I liked, subbed and shared and for the software creator, I will donate some money which is the first time I've actually ever donated for freeware software. That is how much I appreciate no being raked over the coals to recover important files. My issue was copying over drone video files from an aerial shoot and halfway through the copy from a brand new SanDisk Extreme Pro 128GB micro SD card to my computer, I started getting errors saying files weren't there. So I guess the partition somehow got corrupted. I've never seen that before so is that a bad micro SD card or just an rare anomaly?

How do you change the drive from C to a flash disk to scan? I can only scan the c drive and i need to recover holiday pic and vids thats on a flash drive. when i plug in the usb flash drive the software dont recognize the flash drive.

It "appears" that this software, like most other data recovery software, recovers files but does NOT recover the original file name. Instead, it just names the recovered files 00001.extension. You have to then "manually" open ever file to see what it is so you can rename it to the original name. Thus not very user freindly IMHO.

Its a nice program.. but the problem is, it writes all the files from whatever you're scanning. So if you're on your 1 tb ssd and scanning a hdd with 4tbs on it, it will just automatically put the files on your computer. Doesn't seem practical for scanning large drives. Seems more for smaller drives, usb or SD cards.

This thing absolutely does recover files. I just hope it can get the video files I was after. I'm finding old memes I deleted, but so far, no video file has popped up. If no such thing appears from the USB drive or the SSD, I guess I'll just have to figure out if those 32kB .gz files are transfer packets and if I can use those to reassemble the video.

Trying to find a way to recover files off a hard drive that doesn't show up in file manager, disk management, device manager, or even the BIOS. I DO hear it try to run when connected internally though. Likely will have to pay a local pc repair shop for data recovery services

Hello mate I used this software to recover 7tb of movies While it was scanning i could see the movies that it had recovered i could even play them...after a couple of days it finally recovered all the files....but the problem is after the software had finish i could no longer see the files it's telling me it was corrupted and the files are unreadable....but it was fine while it was scanning....extremely frustrating.......any suggestions

Yeah....it got back files...but I had 1000s upon 1000s of files and none of them kept their name. In the end this was more or less a waste of time. Very disappointed that you didn't bring this up.

Whenever I launch testdisk when my external hdd is connected it freezes when I select my hdd and cant do anything why?? It works great if I dont connect my external hdd please help same thing happens with explorer.exe on win 11 and cant it fails to open on linux. Only postive is that on windows sometimes before freezing I can open the folders inside it but it freezes before I copy anything

Just by accident quick format one of my nvme ssd on pc. No, i mean, NO of 5 free and paid apps didnt recover a bit. After quick format ssd is just like brand new. Lost a 13k personal picks with no chance on easy recover

Good vid Brian. Are the recovered file names original or generated by the software? It can be a real time consuming task to rename the files as you made them. I use Wondershare Recoverit. It was the best IMHO against 3 others including yours. Why? Because it has the least amount of hits with "lost file name". Can you imagine renaming video and music files manually? Hint: The file's metadata might bail you out as to what file it is. G'day Mate 👍

If master file table is lost or corupted then ya get no filenames.. regardless of program.. except for files with metadata containing the original filename.. (wich is rare as that data is supose to be,, meta :P)

thx man, I got tricked in to using one of these paying ones, and I do not mind paying for a product that works, but if you let me waste my time for 2 hrs of scanning my drive and then dangle those files in front of me and say "you want them well then you gotta pay", I think the company is an *sshole, every other recovery software does the same, I hate this method of doing business I am sorry, If you had given me my files and said well this can happen again or next time you want to use this you will have to pay, FINE no problem, but just dangling it like a carrot in front of a donkey is not the way to convince me, so again thank you very much, I will consider donating

Nice video. Thanks for making it. My problem was that my harddisk wouldn't spin but I had also an exactly same harddisk than is working so I thought that would be easy sollution. Switch the motherboard on de HD and yes after I done that the hadrdisk would spin again. So I thought I was done but NO. If the BIOS on the HD Motherboard is not the correct one (original) the BIOS on the motherboard of the computer will not see the harddisk so I still can not access it. I'am trying loads of software and most programs see the phisicaldrive but still I can not recover the data. 😭 I'am now running PhotoRec for about an hour but it has not find anything. It is looking for only MP4. You mentioned a program GetDataBack but if I search for it I get multiple options. Can you give the right link please. Maybe you know an other way to solve my problem. This program honestly is bloody fantastic!! Little hack for anyone trying to recover footage from a dvr - go into the file type selection bit and make sure "dovecot" is selected, the files can be converted in VLC after recovery to get the video to playback as normal 👌
