*My daughter drinks lots of water and urinates with the same rate, there are no other symptoms to show if those have anything to do with diabetes. This is a good information that I have gone through **Diabets.Care** She is 2 years 9 months, hale and healthy, have not done any blood test. But I am not certain if one can get diabetes at such a tender age. Please I will like to know more on that*

My oldest son is in his early 20's and he has type 1 diabetes. But thank God for this piece of article kzbin.infoUgkxVYhghKWmrUgXARZ_ydZTvmmcrw5L0I5i At first he thought he had the flu and was lying down on the bed for three days until his sister took him to the hospital. They took his blood and it was 600. What I do not understand is how he could have gotten it, since no one in the family has it. But he is winning the battle now. This is good stuff.

Hey Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine I think one of the reasons lighter people have more bone fractures is they don't have gravity constantly stressing their bones as much as a heavy person. which from what I understand causes bone growth. Astronauts in space essentially weigh nothing and their rate at bone loss is Extreme. I'm a truck driver and used to do long haul style truck driving which I found out causes bone loss in hip and spine once I've got a job where I was out of the truck more my bone mass went from osteoporosis to osteopenia to normal and coincidentally this was around the time where I cut out all meat not long before I went vegan now my bone health is normal for my age which is 45. I love pcrm and watch every day keep up the great work!!!

@@hakeemshabazz3207 why never white rice or white pasta? Most of the time I eat whole wheat and other whole grains but sometimes I like white pasta. I only eat white rice when I do eat rice. If you are already eating plenty of fruits, vegetables, other whole grains, and legumes, it won't make much of a difference nutritionally if you choose white rice over brown or if you eat white pasta on some days. Brown rice doesn't taste as good, and most of the arsenic is in the bran which is removed in white rice.

@@dj-fe4ck Nutritionally, white rice is stripped of vitamins, minerals and fiber. In order to turn brown rice into white, the bran and germ is removed. This refinement process created a disease state called beriberi. Beriberi is a caused by a vitamin b1 (thiamine) deficiency. In order to prevent beriberi, SOME of the vitamins were added back. This is called "enrichment." The real enrichment is to eat rice is it's full vitamin, mineral and fiber form, brown, black and wild varieties. But I digress.☺️
@dj-fe4ck
@dj-fe4ck 3 жыл бұрын
@@hakeemshabazz3207 It's not true that you lose all the Vitamins and Minerals from white rice and white pasta. You are still left with about 25-50% of the Vitamins and minerals from white rice depending on the specific nutrient, and if you are eating plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes, you more than make up for what is lost. On cronometer, enter in white rice, long grain, raw, unenriched and enter in 550 grams for the amount or 2000 for the calories. Make sure it says unenriched so that it's not fortified with anything.Then enter in 1000 grams of broccoli and 1000 grams of tomatoes and you will get enough of every nutrient you need, even with white rice, including enough B1. Let's say you replace have that white rice with oats, then you get even more. So you can easily eat white rice and still get plenty of fiber and enough of every nutrient. Replace 2000 calories of white rice with 2000 calories of pasta, dry, unenriched on cronometer and you will see that the same is true.

@@dj-fe4ck Of course all of vitamins are not lost. White rice and white flour products should be avoided if you have diabetes. Those refine carbs are high glycemic. There are 2 types of diabetes. Type 1 and Type 2. Type 1 must always have insulin. Type 2 diabetics, when given a Dr. McDougal vegan, no-oil type diet (details free on his website) can often reduce or eliminate need for diabetes medication. The more whole foods you eat the better health you will enjoy. Dr. Barnard has reasonably priced consults by telemedicine on his website. I suggest you connect with dietician from his group.

Dr. Barnard, the reason heavier people break bones less is because of the weight they carry. It puts stress on their bones, so the bones respond by building up stronger. Similar to resistance exercise. Which is why this type of excercise daily is so important!

I do not get to eat rich foods like cake, pie, etc. The focus is on baked/boiled potatoes, yams, brown rice, quinoa, beans/legumes, veggies, with 4 pieces whole fruit daily. Vegan cakes and other highly processed foods are only for special occasions like your birthday. He puts all the details for free on his website. Think of it as eating complex starches only.

@@gofigure4920 Yes, I do the same. If I eat whole wheat pasta, organic corn, and whole wheat bread I get hungry, very hungry. So I focus on veggies and potato, rice, yam, beans/lentils, Oat groats or steel cut oatmeal, fruits. Then I stay full and the weight rolls downward. I avoid all animal products, dairy, oils/fats/nuts/seeds. I try to drink Japanese green tea or water. I don't use artificial or natural sweeteners because they make me want sugar and trigger cravings. This is the diet that makes my cancer doctor happy! It reduces the risk of recurrence. On special occasions, I might have a vegan, no oil pasta dish or bread like once or twice a year. It just leaves me soon hungry so mostly I avoid. A side effect is eating like this reduces my body odor. I smell fresher.

I have insulin resistance and on a vegan, whole foods plant based diet with no added oil/fat, no nuts/no seeds, and no added sugar I have done very well. I do not eat processed foods. I divide my plate. 1/2 is steamed non-starchy veggies, 1/4 is beans or lentils, and 1/4 is a starch like baked potato/baked yam/quinoa, etc. I do not add salt. I eat 3 or 4 pieces fruit a day. I buy the whole fresh cheap fruit from the dollar store. For breakfast I eat steel cut oats made with water with pinch of cinnamon. I cook in huge bowl in microwave for 10 minutes. I turn micro on in 3 minute intervals to avoid run over. Need a big bowl size for a single serving to avoid run over. This is what I do. Best you ask your doctor. Without animal products and without fat/oils my cholesterol normalized. In my area we have a produce rescue organization and for $13 you get 60 pounds slightly old produce. Call around to churches in your area and ask. This makes me eat a lot of veggies. I have a side salad of greens with lemon twist and a bowl of homemade veggie soup with lunch and dinner. The weight flies off when I eat this way. I did remember Dr McDougall saying patients on diabetes medication must be carefully monitored because if they eat this way they may require adjustment on their diabetes medications.

High fat diets do increase insulin resistance. But fat doesn't spike glucose. Low carb diets increase all-cause mortality and people die 3 to 6 years earlier. High carb diets improve all-cause mortality and people live longer. I do think it may be different if the fats are monounsaturated or from whole foods like nuts and avocados. But high fat diets are not healthier. There has never been a society with longevity on a high fat diet.

Based on this diet recommendation, what is it saying that's causing the diabetes? Is it that the overall diet is too high in daily caloric intake so the excess (not expended through activity) is stored as fat on the cells blocking sugar absorption? Or is it that the liver not producing sufficient bile/stomach's low acid is incapable of properly digesting food fats such that it gets deposited on the cells? Or is the lack of nutrient-dense foods causing the body to not produce enough or quality insulin? I am trying to understand the source cause.

the issue with vegans and calcium in general is marketing and lack of knowledge. Ads say milk's good for bones, but no one really realizes (outside of me, which took the time to find out) that barley grass powder has the most calcium of any food I know - followed by wheat and alfalfa grass powders, and then dried basil. Greens (outside of oxalate-rich ones) are better for absorption, due to the lack of uric acid. I'm trying to make everyone aware - top calcium sources are plants, not animal products!!!!!

Type 1 which these guys are, can stack up (not overdone) on carbs. They keeping mentioning 'fat' is the problem. That's true, but what they should tell the people is which fat. It's not your intake of fat from foods but the fat that the body makes from food...and that is primarily driven by high carbs that has to be stored due to lack of activity. It's excessive energy being stored. If it was caused by ingested 'fats' (meats, oils etc), why one's insulin sensitivity has increased and there is a resultant decrease in A1C after a significant reduction (almost eliminate) in carbs and a significant increase in fats and proteins. After all, they are type 1s and so have to rely on second hand data. As a type 1, I can run experiments with my data. Unless the various labs are deceiving me...if it works for them fine but they are T2.

If you think as a type 1 or type to who is taking insulin or even if you can produce insulin eating foods that require lots of insulin is good DAILY you can plan on living 10 years shorter life than people without diabetes. If you cant keep your range from glucose range from 70-140, which is considered normal for a healthy person then you are requiring at least twice the insulin of a healthy individual. No 70-180 is not managing diabetes its unhealthy and not necessary if you are limiting your moderate to high glycemic foods. Meat and greens and i keep my blood glucose from 70-140 with and A1C of 5.0. Which means my blood sugar idles at less than 100. If you want these kind of numbers you have to do 1 hour of moderate resistance training 3 times a week and eat meat and low to moderate glycemic vegetables daily. A vegan diet is not conducive with diabetes. Consistently eating statchy carbs and grain with not allow you to deplete muscle glycogen so you will habitually running a glucose surplus and if you dont eat those things like beans you cant get protein on a vegan diet. I would love to hear from a bio chem answer how vegans think eating foods that are full if glucose can keep their blood glucose range in the 70-140 healthy range. Its obvious the medical system recommendations are not conducive with a gealthy range considering diabetics range of 70-180 is considered normal 🤪

The sides of Thanksgiving dinner are all starches, pumpkin, yam/sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, stuffing, rolls, and vegs like green beans, Brussel sprouts, etc. Have some of everything! Don't draw attention to yourself - this is a feast to celebrate the harvest of foods plentiful during that season. Have some turkey if you want - 1 time a year having an 1-2 ounces of turkey Christ's sakes is NOT going to kill you. Regardless of how maniacal these vegan gurus are in love with their own dogma. Breaking bread with loved ones IS IMPORTANT TO YOUR HEALTH AND WELL BEING TOO. You don't have to be a fanatic, or worse an ill mannered, narcissistic guest at someone else's table - all ME-ME-ME-ME-ME-ME and holier then thou - making YOUR HOSTESSS and other family members feel uncomfortable IN THEIR OWN HOMES. 1 MEAL OUT OF 365 days x 3 meals a day = 1,095/year is NOT going to KILL YOU. These are guidelines, not a religion. There is no vegan god who is going to smite you with cancer for enjoying a carefree, worry free meal with your family and 'choosing' to enjoy some turkey on Thanksgiving. They're not asking you to drink Draino as a proof of loyalty to a cult or something. Think of having turkey at Thanksgiving and especially lamb at Easter as your vitamin B12 meal. You probably only need to have a B12 food once or twice a year anyway. Lighten the F up!

Wondering when to see the results, so far I am still having to use insulin if I eat whole grains, fruits like bananas and even oatmeal. I was looking at keto vegan diet as an alternative as I am just not getting the results I was hoping for. 😐

Because it also has to do with the health of the body, in particular the pancreas which produces insulin. You can try to up the nutrients supplied to your body by including fresh made vegetable juices and see if that provides healing benefits. Look at the 'juice for life' book or goop site for juicing ideas.

If type one make too little insulin and type 2 make extra can't the type 2 donate some of their insulin to type 1 s instead of using pug or dog insulin.

No, we can’t. Look up Humalog. We can now use bacteria to make human insulin. PS, you realize they have to kill the pig and remove it’s glands (no dogs) to get the insulin? 🙄

I use canned, salt-free beans but they don't taste very nice. Rinsing them with water helps taste. The key is do what you are able. Beans from a can are much healthier than the standard American diet!!! 🤗

@@pspcraft My doctor said if the choice is between canned beans or no beans--- canned beans win. But the fresh ones taste better so I cook small amounts. I soak in pan in sink, dump in colander in sink, then cook on stovetop. (This is in the sink in case I spill.) Crockpot too heavy and instapot lid is beyond me. Lentil don't need soaking and cook in about 30 minutes. Look for stones in lentils before cooking.

@@pspcraft You will get stronger. My friend had a stroke and she started exercising by walking for 2 minutes inside her home. The next week she did 3 minutes but twice a day. She progressed to doing wheelchair exercise routines on KZbin. Her progress was so inspiring! 🤗
