Hey Booray! I love that photo of your daughter and her grandparents. Well done. I love Fujixweekly HP5 on my X100V personally. I look forward to trying out your color SIM when you share it. Thanks!

Love the Fuji xweekly site. I went down the rabbit hole and now i rarely bother with raw anymore.

Thanks for posting. My preference is landscape, so I wonder what kind of sim Ansel Adams would have come up with? Could be you've hit on that recipe.

I am primarily a landscape photographer and love b&w in certain compositions. For me, it’s hard to beat the Acros Red filter out of camera on the Fuji X-T5.

I like Acros + Red as well for landscape because of how it handles the sky, especially on a sunny day with nice clouds.

I've been looking at some of the color recipes on Fuji - X Weekly recently because I've been shooting with a couple of my vintage lenses on my X-T3. I'd like to pair a retro film sim that I like with the vintage lenses. I think the most popular recipe is the Portra 400. I haven't decided which to use yet.

I have Portra saved. :)

I made one up dedicated to the legendary Ferrania p30 but it's a bit difficult to use because i leave iso to Low80😂

Thanks for the simulation. I will try your recipe on my Fuji X-Pro1 and X-Pro2.

I have been using PRO Neg. Std as I can get more Neutral tones, mostly on Product Photos, and in landscapes as well but I have really not done a comparison to determine whether is helps or nor for a specific scenario but, you are just giving me a reason to play more with the camera. Welcome back!

Try starting with Pro Neg and then tweaking it to make your own custom recipe. :)

Acros rules! I shoot mostly B&W landscapes with my X100V so I use it with the red “filter” and highlights/shadows bumped up … really good! Did you choose the green “filter” for enhanced skin tones? Welcome back. 📷😄 PS: I’ll give your sharpness tweak a try.
@BoorayPerry7 ай бұрын
I just always liked the green filter with black and white. Maybe it's because of the skin tones I never really analyzed it.

Hey, thanks so much for the recipe! I set it up exactly as you described, and it turned out great. However, I’m running into an issue-when I take a test shot, the camera buffers for about four seconds. During that time, I can’t see through the viewfinder or take any additional shots. This happened once before when I first got the camera, and I believe it was a setting adjustment that fixed it, but I can't recall what it was. Have you encountered this problem? If so, how did you resolve it? The delay makes it tricky for street photography, where waiting four seconds between shots can mean missing key moments.
@BoorayPerry2 ай бұрын
@@kencox6166 usually when that happens it's the clarity setting. Setting that back to neutral will sometime fix it. Even then you might still have a little bit of a wait.

Booray, I’ve been binge watching your X100V videos on this Sunday morning having just bought a used X100V. I love your videos a bit too much! Thanks for posting. I used to shoot with Agfachrome and loved it. Any thoughts on film sim settings for this please? Best wishes from UK 🇬🇧.

Thanks! I live in Classic Chrome but lately I have been experimenting with some custom settings. Mostly I have been dialing in a black and white setting that I love straight out of camera. One of my last few videos is about it. :)

So your probation must have come through...j/k welcome back missed the videos. My favorite sims are from FujiXWeekly's Kodak Portra 400 v2 and Kodak Tri-X 400

Question about using the sharpness setting. If I remember correctly, I accidentally set the sharpness to +1 on my XT4. I only discovered this after taking the camera to my camera store and reset it back to 0. Using the sharpness setting made my camera significantly slower. I had to wait several seconds while the camera processed the image before I could take the next picture. Do you find that setting the sharpness to +2 also slows the camera’s ability to take the next image while the image is processed? I can’t see much of a difference between the Acros and the Boo B&W settings. The difference is too subtle for me. Thank you for sharing this setting. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)

It doesn't show up as well on video as it does in camera, unfortunately. Sharpness isn't a problem for me but increased clarity is known to slow down the write speed.
@philadler91717 ай бұрын
The Clarity setting is what slows down the camera processing

I think.tje B and W sims are actually pretty average I use lightroom pre sets instead..they lack contrast I love deeper contrast Yes I missed you mate (aussie guy ha ha) 😂
@BoorayPerry7 ай бұрын
Have you tried bumping up the contrast in camera by creating your own recipe like I did?
