This is going to be a little bit of a hot take but I highly recommend the Saturn VUE, especially the redline edition. You get the legendary Honda 3.5 v6, awd and can get them with less than 200k miles for 1000-2500 easy.

*Scion TC* *2.4L inline 4 = a more bigger displacement engine for a 4 cylinder so you get more torque and it's more than the actual Horsepower 164 lb-ftq at @ 4000rpms and 161 HP @ 5700rpms in a car that weighs 2800lbs so you get a balance of horsepower and torque in a light chassis and gearings are shorter in the 5 speed manual transmission puts all the power down a lot better cars pretty peppy and punchy with it's powerband definitely feels quick in city driving cause of the torque and the instant throttle response it has and for the interior you got a surprisingly roomy spacious cabin for being such a small car on the outside you got plenty of space inside the cabin the backseats are extremely usable you get plenty of leg room back there you get your on cup holder on the side to put your drinks in the headliner is a bit low so if anyone's over 6 feet your head is gonna touch but for anyone under 6 feet you're good and then it's special unique double moonroof it's awesome in a hot sunny day where you have all the windows down and the big moonroof open and you get all the breeze from the wind when driving especially at night and then the sound system in the car is really freaking good you get a stick factory pioneer sound system with pretty good loud and clear pioneer speakers and it's automatic up and down for both windows and it's got a remote lock and unlock feature with anti theft alarm and it comes with a lot of airbags everywhere on the car making it a pretty safe car and the hatchback design is amazing love the way it opens and how easy it is to put things and take things out I absolutely love the car best bang for your buck there's no other car better than this for the price range it's non debatable for the amount of features this car offers is just unbeatable for the price*

I got my first car 5 months ago for $5k. It's a 2007 Mini Cooper R56 base and It had 119k miles when I bought it. I love it so much! It makes my 45 minute drive to work so enjoyable. I also love doing the maintenance and repairs. I actually just got done changing the oil. They're great cars if you take care of them

I've been stuck with a hand-me-down for a decade, and I've been desperate to scrounge up enough money to upgrade to a bigger car, I'm 6'0. My car is a 2011 Kia Rio, at stock spec. For a hand-me-down back in 2012, I couldn't complain. 10 years later though... It's small and anemic. She does do her job though, and because I've had it for so long, I have a sense of what it's capable of. My car guy friend, who called it gutless, said he wouldn't take it above 70, but I've been able to take it to 90 before getting uncomfortable. The eco boost does shut off at about 75, unless I really baby it and trick it to hit 79 max before shutting off. Idk, I find it's time to upgrade, money is the biggest problem tho.

If I'm looking for a Miata I would go for the NC Miata. I don't care what people say. It's just something that maybe (or only) I attracted to. I really love the styling though. People said it was heavy and bulky I get it. But everyone has their own taste in cars. My first car? It's technically not officially my first car but the first car that I drove after I got my driver's license is my mom's 2010 Corolla Altis. I know it doesn't have the "boom" effect that I'm searching for. At least I got my basic knowledge of fixing cars and did a few maintenance with my mom's Corolla Altis. If my mom happy with what I did to her car, I'm happy too.

Another car id recommend getting is a p71/p7b ford crown vic police interceptor they are going up in price but you can still get a good one for under 5K And with the reliable and somewhat quick 4.6 2v motors that are usually maintained every three to five thousand miles from the police department's they came from they'll last forever even if you beat on them. Not to mention a body on frame v8 rwd 3800 pound sedan that will roast tires and body roll in the process will put a massive smile on your face trust me i drive one

Fun fact. Auto v6 mustangs are slow. 2.73 rear axle. MANUAL v6 mustang not bad. 3.30:1 rear axles. Burnout kings. Open diff. And they'll drift. And push 30mpg+ with the cats removed on 1999 and older cars.

Am older sleeper I owned was a 1997 Windstar with 200 hp and was as fast or faster than the popular Tiburon, Civic SI, Ford Probe RT, Nissan Sentra SE-R V spec.all of the sporty cars of that time. I could also hang with the 1997 Mustang Cobra and the 215 hp, and I was racing him with 2 kids in car seats and a wife screaming at me for racing with kids in the van. But afterwards she asked if that was a mustang and when I told her yes, she was impressed. I hated Ford's but I bought it because it was the only minivan that had an engine upgrade option. That van was quick for a huge van and did the Quarter mile in 16 sec with a top speed of 220 /hr AMD the 1994 Mustangs GT sosbthe quarter mile in 15.5 (only 1/2 second faster) AMD top speed of 221 kph ( only 1 kph faster). I embarrassed a lot of cars toting my kids to swing and T-ball

the only logical choice was the miata the rest are either too slow, too SUV or too FWD. Maybe if you found the cleanest v6 mustang in the world that had an 8.8 rear end swapped into it but your never going to find one like that the 7.5 rear on those old V6 Mustang can snap from even relatively stock hp/tq.
