He missed out on the 2016 Lexus GS F. You can get low mileage examples for $48-50k. Muscle car NA 5.0 liter V8, 467 hp, RWD, great sounding engine, amazing dealer experience, sedan practicality and unlike the other cars on the list they won't break constantly and cost you an arm and a leg to maintain/own. Ride is fairly firm bc they don't have adaptive dampers. Adaptive dampers were added for the 2017 model.

Thank you for this. I always enjoy your content. As odd as it sounds..your channel REALLY helped myself and the entire recovery floor of Marines recovering from damage occurred in battle. This is where I stumbled upon your work and it was instrumental in getting me out of my head and to this day a safe place to go upon finding myself visited by those I lost, those I failed, and those I helped...transition from this world to the next. When I find myself awake at 3 am due to either PTSD episodes or hyper vigilence ...your channel offers a refuge from my iniquities without waking my miracle of a Daughter with my pacing around the house. We used your work in the recovery VA in Germany and we carried it home with us. We treat it like a book club before and after our weekly PTSD groups. I'd like to offer my sincere gratitude. Not for under $50k. Under $50 a 2017 or 2018 is fine- avoid the 2016 because you couldn’t have electronic package and track package together- in 2017 the track package became standard. Really , you cannot go wrong with the Jaguar XE S. No soppy 'retro' love-in, nostalgia, nor old hat stuff here: a truly amazing V6 hot-rod Saloon for the money derived from the amazing F type models. About $40000 , so you'll get some good change too! Modern but has an old-fashioned brute force about it while having a great turn of speed even at stock. I would mention the FJ Cruiser too. They are typically 20-40k, and are so cool looking. They do some fun colors as well and the customizability of these rigs is really nice as well. Dead reliable, but a true offroading beast that never disappoints. Their quirky features also make it really fun to own. It has three windshield wipers, Toyota matched the exterior paint to the inside interior door panels and center console, and they built the interior so that it can be hosed off. He mentioned the TRD Pro, which is a nice car, but it's so expensive and overpriced, whereas with the FJ Cruiser they aren't as much, but are just as cool looking and capable.

@colechapman6976

@Ryan The FJ isn't overpriced, considering what it can do and how capable it is off-road. It's a Toyota too, so naturally, the used price will be relatively high. The thing is though, unlike most other Toyotas that tend to be dull, this one has a sense of humor. Instead of some boring 4runner or something, you could have this quirky retro offroader that can be as long-lasting as Buckingham Palace. The prices aren't even that much considering the desirability of these cars. I don't think they are overpriced because you get a whole lot of car and unlike most other used Toyotas, or even new Toyotas, it isn't an absolute snooze fest
@colechapman6976
@colechapman6976 Жыл бұрын
@Ryan You get a quirky car, with three windshields, funky doors, retro design, but it's still a Toyota, and it's still reliable. That's why they are valued in the offroad community. Some other new cars, like the new Defender, the new Jeep Wrangler, are cool, but they don't have Toyota reliability. The thing that makes this car special, is it stands out while being reliable. You can own something that is unique, without dreading something mechanical going wrong with it. The Toyotas that are coming out today just aren't as cool looking as the FJ Cruiser apart from the TRD Pro, but that thing is way more overpriced

Definitely the new jeep wrangler Rubicon fits this list, so much fun, one of the most capable vehicles off road in stock form, lots of aftermarket support, iconic. It's so raw and has so much character, you can go topless and doorless, fun snow trips, beach trips, camping, dessert, through the dunes. Definitely a fun family vehicle for adventures and great memories

I think you ripped the G-wagon a new one in a previous video, said it was ridiculous, if I remember, an ancient relic of a car/joke played upon unsuspecting and image-driven rich people. Also, you failed to mention the annoying way the sheer vertical windows bounce reflections into the drivers' eyes almost if to blind them. I think the RX-7 is the one I would buy once I secured a good local Mazda mechanic and gave him/her a 10k stipend ahead of time. That, and my first-born. Classic design and easier one of the most beautiful designs ever to come out of Japan. Love this video and it shows what an expert you truly are when it comes to cars.

My first car was a 1988 Mazda Rx7. I absolutely loved the car ! Looked like a Porsche 988 ? 928 ? One of these things. It was luxurious with EVERY option and that maroon interior...and it was FAST and nimble....and get me immediately in hot water. Hahaha I was 18 and I was dating a 26 year old married red headed Wiccan woman who had 3 kids (I was teaching women's self defense and domestic violence/rape awareness at the local university to supplement my cash flow and let her move in until she got on her feet) best and worse 8 years of my life. When I proudly brought home my 1st car like a conquering Hero and stood back waiting for the richly deserved acclaim...I hear her ask "where are the back seat seats " (3 kids whoops) !? I thought they were folded down !? Haha...ever since I've stuck with porsches with back seat. 2 911s, a 928, a few mustangs, a Nissan GT-R ,and currently a Roma Lotus and Aston Martin have rear seats as well and Aston Martin's is actually comfortable. Although my ALL TIME DREAM CAR (which I don't think you've ever reviewed) equus bass 770. I LOVED the Throwback but didn't get one. Does anyone know why equus is allowing a different company to produce their ev scout ? You'd think that if they did it'd Hyundai RIGHT !?

A C6 or maybe even a C7 would fit nicely on that list. But these are Doug’s choices and I would agree with most of them. I will say also that I’d take a GX Lexus over the G Wagon unless I was seriously off roading, but then I likely wouldn’t take a G for that either. Plus it’s too much of a bling mobile these days. The M5 is great but…a POS reliability and quality wise. So sad that BMW’s have gotten that way in more recent years. I’d go with the Audi instead (personal experience). Love the AMG wagon. Nice video all in all.
