For anyone having White Screen on Pokemon Games the solution is change your save type: Options > Emulation > Save Type > choose Flash 128k instead of 64k. restart emulator/rom.

U think you don't need a "special VBA emulator" to do that, since nearly all GBA emulators have filters option.

wow, works perfectly for harvest moon friend of mineral town. if you have the problem that there are no changes at all, then change the video to 4x the window size then click the maximize icon and it's done. It works on me.

The truth is that I never liked any of the filters, and I always played the 2D consoles without anything. Yes they look very blurry and pixelated but it is better than everything looking as if it were bleached. Although for GBA games that use mode 7 I discovered that if you use Open GL mode in mgba, and scale the resolution, it seems to take it as a 3d game and scales almost perfectly. At least Road Trip Shifting Gears scales it very well for me. There are some things that are still blurry, but in the game itself there is a big improvement, it almost looks like the original console only enlarged. I just hope that the issue of scaling 2D games improves over time. This is what emulators should improve above all else.

The only way to change the internal resolution is with true 3d games or mode 7 games (partially) and on mgba.

Unfortunately i hate the smooth effect it gives, i want to see the pixels. Just my personal opinion.

Although i also agree, i have to say that in this particular case, most of the pixels are there because of the low resolution when stretching it into a modern display. If you play on OG hardware or resize the emulator to 240x160 (idk if this can be done in every one), most of the pixels would be almost unnoticeable and the image would be clear (at the cost of having a ridiculous small screen in this last case). Im a bit sick of filters that smooths graphics without taking into account how the game actually looked originally. We need filters that take into account that, and do the upscale with an IA. Not just for emulators btw but for every thing. An alternative would be a mod or a PC port which runs with the OG sprites and just zoom out the camera. Its an alternative i guess.

Mgba actually scales perfectly 3d games and mode 7 games (for the most part), but still struggles with pure 2d games or even worse than vba m, since most of its filters arent even included and some are broken. We need a PC port of Pokemon instead.

Absolutely trash advice. Does not work without first downloading dx9 drivers. After that the filter does almost nothing at all. Not to mention this emulator refuses to work with controls of handhelds at all. Avoid this emulator at all cost.
