Agree. This guy has it. His channel came a long way from the time this video was posted but still, I think he should have had a lot more subscribers. Probably has to do with the name of the channel, it doesn't contain any "headphones", "reviews" or anything like that. Google's algorithm probably does not promote this channel as much as the other more appropriately named channels. I wouldn't change the name and I'm sure that quality content will take care of all the rest.

I have a Samson SR850. People say it is nearly the same of that one. It sounds so much better compared to PS3 Pulse headset, HD202 Sennheiser and Siberia V2 headset which I own too. I use the SR850 with a Fiio A3 headphone Amp (not that it need to be driven by it but adds a small bass boost and clarity). I always wonder how this cheap headphone (which I think sounds awesome, really awesome to me) compare to a HD6XX for example. I know it may be unfair but I need to know this. Great channel, great reviews!

*lets be honest here, after owning expensive headphones we find ourselves most often wear the cheap ones most of the time lol. I wear my shp9500 almost 90% of the time when im on pc compared to my other $300-$500 headphones because its too damn comfortable, sounds good enough and we can just treat it like a b####*

I love these headsets because of the clarity and sound stage it feels like you're listening to it outside instead of in a room they are great for surround sound and for picking up small cubes in music but they suffer when base is needed. I would recommend them for everyone there is no reason not to get these.

It's a great headphone. It can be better with some parametric EQ to raise the subbass somewhat and tame down the treble (or put some toilet papers inside the earcup). But IMHO, the HD681Evo/HD662Evo are even better ones once EQ-ed. EQ makes every headphone sound better, especially the cheap ones.

How you finding the superlux headphones now? Are you still using it? I am trying to pick between the Superlux HD668b or philips SHP9500s for fps gaming. A lot of people say SHP9500S has less soundstage than the superlux so superlux has an advantage. But other's say the SHP9500 sound better and less fatiguing when wearing them. I am in a tough pickle. Not sure what to go with. Looking forward to your thoughts :)

Okay, I would say, the better overall headphone is the 9500. By a lot! For enjoyment for gaming, the 9500's are better too. However, the 668's have an upper hand in terms of sound stage. So for EXTREMELY competitive players who care more for winning than enjoyment, they are better. Other considerations would be the addition of a microphone. The mounting system of the SHP's is better. You can add V-moda boompro mic or mod mics, easily. (Team communication can actually be almost more important for winning than sound stage is. But, the mod mic will work on the 668s, too. After using both a LOT - I would say the 9500 is a much better option. Better overall detail and signature. Way more enjoyable and comfortable. Thoughts?

Thanks Joshua. I was also leading towards that one. When it comes to a good pair of gaming headphones under $100 the 3 suspects usually come up: Samson SR850, Superlux HD668b and Philips SHP9500s. The philips is not that much expensive compared to the other two so seems well worth the extra $15-20.

Thanks for the review, you forget to mention that they have spike around 5k, to hey have siblings in some songs to my ears, they are super open back even they seems like semi open, I mean after I have changed the pads to valour one's, the upper bass is very solid, they lack of low end like most of HiFi budget headphones, ths soundstage is very impressive, the imaging is poor Maybe that is because my amp I don't know, they really thirsty for power, so you can't drive them properly without good amp, I have loosen the clamping force because in new pair is terrible, I also recond the cable only because it's to short, the long one is to long (: consider the price they are perfect

You can, a female to female headphone adaptor thing, plug one end into the small dongle on the headphone itself, then connect the boom pro to the other female connector

I'm going to have to disagree. Although the 668b's are very good for gaming (nice wide sound stage and the bright sound signature is great to hear foot steps in FPS's) I feel you have to do too much to them to make them livable.The mic you recommended also won't work with the 668b without an adapter. Even then, it would sit too low and kind of dangle freely. For an open backed gaming headset under $100 I'd recommend the Philips SHP9500s. For closed I'd go with the Status Audio CB-1. As of right now the SHP9500s is $50 at Newegg and the CB-1s are $55 on Amazon. Both of them have a detachable cable to accommodate a Boompro and you don't have to change the pads.

I will also add that the CB1s and SHPs are fantastic (for their price) for music.
@JoshuaValour
@JoshuaValour 6 жыл бұрын
Gregg, the SHP's are very very good headphones. I would pick them for music in a heart beat. But I do like the 668's slightly more for gaming. They don't sound as good overall, but highlight the important bits of a game a fair bit better (such as the aforementioned footsteps). Anyway, as long as you have fun, it doesn't matter what you are listening to. But, the don't win the "best headphone under $100" by a long shot. SHP's would definitely be in the running for that title. CB1's, md7506, m-40x's would all be there too...
@JesusGonzalez-tu2nr
@JesusGonzalez-tu2nr 6 жыл бұрын
I would say that the CB-1 would be the one to save for but the 9500s and 668bs are both good picks. For a super fun set I would get the Modern Retro Over Ear Headphones from Monoprice www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=16150.

After breaking the jack for the third time. (3rd headphone) i decided to remove the drivers from my oneaudio crap headphone (aliexpress) and put in the 668B' drivers. Even though this is a closed casing. Maybe i'll cut open the cans and glue a small speaker grill to make them open. Sounds a lot better than the oneaudio's though.

These are GREAT on PS4. You've GOT to change the ear pads. They are terrible. I bought some replica airweave ear pads, used for Steelseries. Also, I would recommend a soundcard or a DAC. I bought a Neoteck 192kHz DAC and Converter. All together, I paid $71 for everything. Good deal.
