Hell Eve was even taken to court for being $1 million in debt, and they only escaped being forcefully declared bankrupt by claiming "We have a new product coming (Eve Spectrum) with lots of pre-order money, so we can still pay it back" (with the pre-order money that's supposed to go into building the monitors lol). Look up reviews for its predecessor the LG C9 (this only came in a 55inch version at the smallest). The LG C9 beats every gaming monitor in every single category. The only thing you can fault it is that it is "only" 120hz (144hz doesn't really matter), and it doesn't have display port, where HDMI 2.1 is still hard to connect to since this year's graphics cards are just now coming out with it.

I was looking at the EVE monitor but aside from not knowing the company's trustworthiness, I just didn't want to deal with any potential overseas warranty work. I decided to get the LG 27GN950 and ordered it off Amazon. It took two weeks to arrive but damn I have zero issues with it. Its colours, responsiveness and performance are amazing and it even has a limited multi-zone dimming capability with HDR600. I can't use it to its full potential with my 1080ti, but I preordered a Strix OC 3090 and can't wait to combo the monitor with it.

As soon as I leave the plane fps never dip below 100 for the rest of the match. And the card is much quieter than my 1080 Ti was and performance is much better too, especially in newer titles.

I will recommend LG's OLED 4K HDR TVs. 120 hz, 4K, OLED (superior to LCD) and real HDR. If you have the ability to use a fairly large TV, this is superior for immersion and AAA and AA and indie/old games than ANY other LCD gaming panel by far. It also is better for competitive gaming thant 120-144hz LCD panels, but not as good as 1080p 360hz or 1440p 240hz for that.

It's too big. Not only for comfortable monitor distance viewing but just the PPI is too low. Many people are argue "what is the point of going 4k if your display is too small" but I would argue the opposite. What is the point of upgrading to 4k only to end up losing Pixel density in the process. 40" is the absolutely maxium I would go since it has at least the same PPI 1440p 27inch but really I would want it to be sharper.
@danielvelkovski31564 жыл бұрын
Kris where did you get that info from? The 48” has the highest pixel density amongst the cx linup: “pixel density of 8 million pixels, which the company says offers density comparable to an 96-inch 8K set”. The clarity is one of the best.
@AVerySillySausage4 жыл бұрын
@@danielvelkovski3156 Do you know what pixel density is? It's the highest density in the line up because it's the smallest. 1440p 27" is a higher density, it matters at monitor distance, it will look less sharp.

Hey guys, Thanks for your review. It's a very on point "follow up content" that's very much in the style of your channel. I added my 3 cents below for those shopping around and looking for an additional point of view. - Yes, Jay upped the ante by trade marking 2cents ;) - But before even getting into this, people, go in your display settings in windows and actually check or set your refresh rate manually to whatever max value it can provide. Almost all displays are at 60Hz by default. You would not believe how many people take the display out of the box, plug it in and start playing. Never aware they're actually playing at 60Hz the whole time eventhough they payed for 3 times this speed. It's a bit like XMP for RAM. Another tip to give here is make sure the DP or HDMI cable you're using is able to transmit your resolution at the desired speed. Buying an expensive 244Hz display and connecting it with an old cable from 5 years ago that was just lying around is another common mistake. I personally have a Dell s3220dgf. Surprisingly cheap at the 400 to 500 $ price point, depending on offers, considering its 4ms response time and very good build quality. It's a wide and tall display, for those who enjoy lots of screen real estate (e.g. if being used for work & gaming). 32 inch curved is a nice format in my opinion and 165 Hz at 1440p is for me a perfect sweet spot at the moment. That's because you actually can get to 165 FPS consistently in most games at this resolution especially if you reduce settings in ways that make no visual differences whatsoever, so you'll use your display fully. For the best experience you want to be above 165 FPS, say 180 and cap your FPS at 165 Hz (or your screen refresh rate) in game settings. This will make your frame time extremely consistent while gaming which gives you a better fluidity and immersion than super high but inconsistent refresh rates. Average and variance in frame times is the performance criteria gamers and reviewers should actually focus on, more so than just average FPS. I personally cannot see the difference anymore past a certain refresh rate. I am sure I'd barely see the difference between my 165Hz and a 120Hz. 244Hz sounds absolutely overkill, especially since no GPU will deliver this consistently and at max settings (incl. RT) in the coming (5?) years. I'm not an esport gamer. I don't game 30 hours per week so when I do I want it to be an experience. I push settings to the max, I want to use RT in games that make sense and I'm perfectly fine at 165 Hz. I would assume most gamers are in my situation. I also find ultrawide curved display significantly more immersive but that's another kind of subjective point. 27" flat seems to be a format better left in the early 2010s just as 1080p is an obsolete resolution at this point (unless you're an esport gamer). Don't get me wrong, it's absolutely fine if you're gaming at 1080p and are content with the result. But if you are currently upgrading your hardware though, there's not many reasons to stick with this resolution anymore. Personally, I would make the move to 4k before making the move to 244Hz. The significantly increased crispiness of the image greatly overweighs the barely perceptible added fluidity. I would probably also go for a bigger display before going for a higher refresh rate. If you're about to break the bank, go check out some screens at your local HW store (I know at the moment it's not easy) to see if refresh rate is important to you. I really feel like 165Hz is a luxury already and I doubt 244Hz will make a difference for most people. It usually makes a difference in the price though..
