6-8 hrs isn't really a mixed workload. You will experience burn-in. Tim has done it, as well as others already for a year. Just get an IPS monitor and be happy. Or if you have money to spare, get one. With the 3 year warranty it will help but what happens after that? Plano buying another $1000 monitor.
@todosdupos3 ай бұрын
OLED burn-in warranty is nice, but still a hassle to deal with the vendor (e.g. ASUS) to get it replaced (or get the money back) -- not many brick and mortar shops where I'm at so I'd have to order online and ship it back and forth if something goes wrong (+ no screen for the duration). Talk about first world problems... MiniLED was an interesting choice, but there's not many in the size I'm looking for ("32 4k, "34 wide 1440p, non-curved) and for reasonable money (EU prices). Seems like manufactures would either go budget for LCD or OLED for high-end and it feels like there's few options in the middle that I'm aware of. I was secretly hoping that using dark mode and all the OLED care features it could work, but after watching Tim's own experiment and Rtings long-running burn-in test I'm still not convinced. Maybe I'm overthinking it 🤷

Great video, I'd just love to see an additional section for "work-from-home + gaming" monitors, i.e. non-OLED displays that still have high-end features like proper HDR, integrated KVM and stuff like that. Ideally at an ultrawide resolution for better productivity AND gaming immersion... I bet there must be more people like me who are looking for a single display than can do everything 😁(and do so without a risk of burn-in) Recently I keep recommending the Lenovo Y34wz-30, it can sometimes be had for as cheap as 690 Euros and offers the "full package", ultrawide 1440p, mini-LED VA at 165 Hz, integrated KVM + Ethernet, very good motion performance at high refresh rates (but struggles at ~60 Hz). And while I'm satisfied with this monitor for now, it's still not perfect and I'd love to see more content about non-OLED HDR monitors, especially ultrawides. Also, gotta mention, I love to see Guardians of the Galaxy in the b-roll footage on this channel and on HUB! It's such a gem of a single player linear story-type game 🤩

Agree on the wish they would cover such a requirement. Additionally, labeling a display with a pink backlayer as "QD OLED" is misleading and defeats the purpose of OLED technology. The acceptance of outrageous pricing is also concerning. Does anyone have AOC U27G3X ? I'm confused about text on this display - it looks...strange. Black is black, white is white but not 100% white...It's difficult to explain it. Glowing, burning in pixels time that is too slow...? The second issue I have with it is a proper setting for all those new things - mbr, gaming mode, gaming colors....but I don't game at all - I want a sharp text, white background, not killing my eyes with its brightness.

Hi Tim, Would you have any suggestions or videos I may have missed on the best Ultra wide curved OLED monitors to look at? I was interested in Samsung's G9 OLED 42" curved monitor but it's no longer on sale in my area. Very interested in large OLED curved monitors to take advantage of for work stuff and gaming(Primarily leisure/gaming with work being an optional plug-in). Can't seem to see many reviews on ultra wide curved monitors that don't talk about last year's G9 42" OLED. Thanks!

IPS > VA, superior color gamut, no VRR flicker, superior HDR, no silly gamer look, 12-bit DSC Neo g7 only seems similar on paper and doing a bit of product research it's no real comparison These new mass produced cheap and low quality oleds will have screen degradation before these LED/LCD panels of the last generation begin to show their age spec wise Imagine a world having to replace your computer monitor every two years or less because like your phone you have burn in certain spots and overall reduced brightness and color accuracy from general use that's what we're headed towards Oleds inherently do not last the test of time

Wondering how many of you (who don’t buy OLED because of burn-in concerns) have experienced burn-in in your previous OLED or plasma displays? We used a Plasma TV (1080p Panasonic) for 10 years with no visible burn-in. Friend and several colleagues used various LG OLEDs as their monitors (8+ hours a day) and none had burn-in issues. In my experience burn-in is not a concern for most users. But there are use cases where OLED/plasma is a bad choice of course.

I don't have a budget problem, I just want to go for the best screen, I see that many recommend the AW3223DWF but my only problem is that it dates from 2022. Hasn't the technology evolved since then? Is it not relevant to instead go for a model released in 2023 or even 2024?
