Actually every region of Georgia is famous with it's own dishes, and believe me all of them are delicious. Next time try western Georgia, grits, walnut stuff vegies, kharcho (walnut paste beef or chicken stew) with grits, cheesy grits (elarji), megrelian khachapuri, and other. Try bean and meet things. You will love it.

Under the Constitution of Georgia, out country's name is Georgia, not republic of Georgia :) as to the food, my absolute favourite food when I was not a vegetarian, was CHAKAPULI, it has the most unique dish, you should try it. This is the king of all dishes. I also wanted to say that the oven where the puri is baked is called tone (თონე) not tonir.
