I used a very strong leaf blower and blew out the dust and used a damp towel on the other side to catch the dust. It works. Just make sure the leaf blower is strong.

Hi someone said in the comments that you replaced the starting capacitor, not the starter relay …can you address that ? And how would I know if I need to replace which one in mine? I have a Galanz mini fridge and I feel like it’s making a clicking noise and kind of struggling and I worry it’s using more electricity as a result . Can I use a soft dry (or damp) cloth to clean the coils ?

For my appliance issues I google the issue I am having, then I search repairclinic.com on youtube for instructions on how I can repair my appliance myself. I have never used a cloth on the coils, only a coil brush, and now a vacuum and a straw with my coil brush if needed.

Good hack! At first I thought you were going to use a shop vac with a blower thus compressing your air:) I just vacuumed mine today but I'd like to get in there better. I was thinking about rigging something up to blow it out but I may use your method first and use an oversized milkshake straw:) Looks like your way will be less messy and work great! Patience is my middle name

Just a warning replacement of capacitors can be shocking they hold a high voltage charge to kick start the compressor placing you fingers across both terminals will kick start you😮

So what should we do when we are replacing it?
@lytnin882 ай бұрын
You can discharge a capacitor by--carefully--shorting out the terminals with a screwdriver.

Excellent. Do all bottom freezer fridges have coils in the back?
@howididit2 жыл бұрын
Hello there, I am not sure, my fridge it pretty old. Any of y'all have an answer to Elizabeth's question?
@halc.28992 жыл бұрын
Absolutely not. My Kenmore made by Amana/Whirlpool has bottom coils which are just about touching the floor front to back and you can only reach the front angled section laying on the floor. This ladies fridge is a cake walk by comparison. Appliance makers design this stuff so you can't take care of it so it breaks about 10 years prematurely and then they get to sell you another one.
