I've always wondered if you can set multiple overlays on these new age cameras. Like, can I set a 2:1 ratio overlay *and* a 9:16 overlay for example? Because it sucks having to pan and scan for mobile. Would be nice to get it all in camera.

The ole shaky handheld look is nice when used appropriately, but I feel that it is being way over used now for the past 15 -20 years or so. Putting movement in a scene that does not call for it is distracting and really needless. It does not add to the story or the scene. Some films and TV programs, the shaky wandering cam was so intense it gave me a headache after a while, it was like being sea sick or something.

Wouldn't the first step for Hand Held be Global Shutter?

I doubt any filmmakers at this level are using rolling shutter.

@@thepropolys The only 'modern' cinema cameras with a S35 or bigger sensor that use a global shutter are Red Komodo, Sony F55, some Z-cam models, variations of the Canon C700 and some older Blackmagics (Ursa 4K, BMPC 4K). All the others use rolling shutter with very fast readout speeds (under 10ms). There are older cameras with global shutter (for example the Sony F35), but none of them are that relevant to current-day cinematography.

Even in us PAL countries, 30fps can be better for KZbin, as if we upload 24, 25 or50fps, the platform conforms it to 30 or 60fps. It's a pain for reduced quality, or it's a pain fo getting rid of flicker from light sources. This all would have been easier if the US TV standards comittee hadn't got thier knickers all twisted up with the introduction of 1080p, where everywhere else wanted a single frame size and frame rate for all of the worlds broadcasts, and the US team said "Sure, but only if it's ours,...." They wanted 720p60, everyone else wanted 1080p.
