Good morning! Korean corn dogs are hot dogs, cheese, rice cakes, or fish cakes fried in a batter on a stick and dressed with sugar, ketchup, mustard, and/or mayo. They are a sweet & savory treat that can be made in a variety of different ways. The potato dog is all potato. So, no meat as we know the hot dog. Lol

I'm from Chicago,... lived near Maxwell Street, Al's Beef and Rosebuds... and I'm a hardcore "Gumba". I am a professional pizzaiolo and I know my Chicago dogs and Maxwell Street dogs... HOLY CRAP!!! Those not only look authentic... but amazing, as well. "I tip my hat to you, 'Sota." I can't believe I just approved of 2dogs from Minneapolis 🤷‍♂️...

Years ago when I lived in Ohio, My town had a restaurant that was known for its hot dogs that were steam-cooked in beer. The menu was fairly simple and in addition to the hot dogs, customers could also get fried sea food, burgers, hot roast beef sandwiches, and submarine sandwiches. What was far from common in big chain restaurants is that this restaurant also offered international beers from places like Japan, Denmark, Mexico, Ireland, Germany, and the Philippines. The name of the restaurant was Lum's Restaurant. The last one that closed in 2009 was located in Davie, Florida. I don't really like to eat hot dogs; but, Lums did have other food options that I could enjoy whenever my dad to us out to eat.

Korean living in Minneapolis. Those Korean hotdogs are commonly sold around schools. They're usually dusted in sugar, and the batter is a often a rice flour batter, which gives it a mochi donut texture. The potato dog is my favorite, so good pick with that one.

I'm glad you started with Uncle Franky's as they are the best in the Twin Cities, but if you would have just talked to the owner you had on film for 2 minutes, you'd realize that he is from Chicago as is all of his products supply chain. Of course it competes with Chicago, IT IS Chicago. You should have tried his chicken wings, they are really good. He smokes them, then deep fry flash finish.

Just throwing an idea out there about the Dogo. I’ve read on their website that they base their food selection off what would be sold in Northern Mexico as street food. When Jared mentioned needing some spice, I wonder if street vendors in Northern Mexico forego spices. Just a thought.

Just moved to the area and have been wanting to check out that pinball arcade! When I saw hotdogs on the menu I had the same exact thought that they'd probably just be a cheap dog, I'm very excited to hear that the dogs are good on their own merit, now I want to check it out even more! Also as a first time viewer I hate to be savory and delicious but I found the video to be very cheesy and corny.

Ooh, I love this question! The comments below pretty much hit the mark, but I'm gonna get nerdy anyways. It's specific bacteria in the ripening process that converts lactic acid to propionic acid (which is also part of what gives Swiss cheeses their nutty flavor!) and generates CO2 gas. Emmentaler cheese (the legal name-protected version) is also generally aged at a slightly higher temperature and humidity level than similar cheeses, which helps the gas form nice round holes rather than splitting the wheels open from the inside out!

Interesting hot dogs. Most were a never ever for me. Let's just say as someone who will not eat sauerkraut , Russian dressing , mozzarella or provolone cheeses , mustard , or any type of mayonnaise based topping ...nope ! The Maxwell Street Polish is NOT a brat. It's Polish sausage. Every good Chicago hot dog place will always offer a Maxwell Street Polish as well. Not brats. At the Korean place you missed out on trying the cheesy hot dog on a stick, along with the potatoes. And Yes! they make them like that in Korea. The elote Mexican dog is made with mayo, not sour cream. It really should have some chili powder or tajin sprinkled on top. You both need to just shut up and eat, and then talk.
