It still does not make sense to me that CA just dropped Attila. This game had serious potential and still does with all the modding teams. If CA has the brain to release proper modding tools, new people might still buy this game lol. I am playing this mod and it offers really fun campaign. It is well balanced in my opinion. The roman eleite units are great but take long to recruit so you cannot just spawn elite stacks and run over the map. And at the same time playing as WRE you cannot be very adventurous and aggressive. If you over reach early you will be punished.

It's not the developers it's the stupid upper management run by retarded idiots with MBA who doesnt know the product and doesnt listen to people who works on the products, those retards tried everything, (Releasing one game per year with Saga, tried to emulate paradox by making DLC's for older games like Rome II) all failed and all they did was hiking prices across the board and delivering subpar experiences. They could simply stick with Attila and do the same treatment with Warhammer.

@@SmokeDog1871 One of the things I'd like in a possible future ROME 3 is that diplomacy is more dynamic and unpredictable. For example, that AI factions break a treaty they have with you randomly: like after 5 turns or sometimes after 10 or 20 or 30 turns. The reason for this to happen is because sometimes an Ai faction leader might be assassinated or overthrown by his political rivals. And the ones who seize power decide to change that faction's policy in relation to you. Just like it would happen in real life when a new government is established. And at the same time that you can improve and stabilize gradually over time your relationships with a faction by means of special new agents: diplomats

I am playing wiht the british roman's and i'm starting a rebellion against western empire, and man it is awesome, i though ancient empires was the best mod for Attila, but i am really loving this mod simple a great job, in the start (of the british roman campaign) is really difficult because the british people will attack you very soon, because they simple hate the romans, but with you survive it become one of the best campaigns i ever play in a Total war game, i think only Tokugawa in Shogun 2 is really hard has well, because you are surrounded by enemys and you need to really break your way through all to survive and that gives a great sensation of victory when you get out successful, simple amazing how Attila modders are very talented, and give you much more fun than the owner and creator of the games, i recommend a lot this mod, and when is finished will be my top tier mods of total war games, including Para Bellum, Dawless Days, 1212 ac, Rome 2 DEI, Age of Bronze and Ancient empires.
@andreitabun2353 Жыл бұрын
Great mod indeed! I agree with all the good part you told about it, my only problem with it, in my opinion, its the recruiting system, good roman units take 3-4 turns to recruit, and even though they are cheap in upkeep ( all units are very cheap in my opinion) it takes you quite a while to recruit a good army that can stand against 3 barbarian armies, but the problem is that most of the barbarian armies are low tier cheap units recruiting in one turn, so they have their armies recruited more faster than you, and until you are done recruiting you can loose some settlements already, so playing especially with WRE you must be very careful in to not to loose any of your initial armies which is more tough than in vanilla
@duxd1452 Жыл бұрын
Sounds like a good thing to me. Makes you actually care about your units and guarantees you can't just autoresolve everything.
@andreitabun2353 Жыл бұрын
@@duxd1452 in a way yes, but I would be ready to pay more for units like in Fall of the eagle, here indeed you need to take care of your units, but until you see how many stacks came at you at once you will understand what I mean, to many enemies, and in this mod replenishment is also changed, and more slow, depends on different factors, so after a bloody battle you don't always have time to replenish, neither to recruit new units, a little too frustrating

I can understand your frustration, though this system sounds great to me. Barbarian armies made up of mostly tribal levies, that are cheap, qucikly recruited (or more like gathered), but of low quality. Roman army, elite and professional, thus requiring actual training.

This mod deseves some critique honestly. While the dev team is claiming that units are completely historically accurate, it is not the case because of the leather armor used by Germans in the mod. That armor is 100% fictional, has no sources at all and looks like something from a fantasy setting. Leather armor historically was only attested to be used by Sarmatians (and maybe by Romans for leather Lorica Musculata), but that's it. Celtic chainmail shoulders with leather pauldrons that you can see in video look like something from Dawnless Days honestly. Also slingers with spears on their backs look completely absurd, because you can't carry a spear on the back lol. I'm saying it as a one who reenacts Late Antiquity. Also the difficulty is artificial and all over the top. And there aren't any major additions besides of new units and some factions, there is no population system, no scripts like 1212 AD, no new architecture, no global map edits etc. And I'm surprised to see this mod coming to Workshop, because until now it was sold by devs in their Discord for quite a sum (which is weird, even Dawnless days and 1212 AD mods are free). Also there is a previous version of this mod named Judes Rex that you can try for free.

It's a lot safer to be a historical military enthusiast in the gaming sphere than a modern one. If you leak a 1,500 year old military document to prove that the soldiers of the comes tingitaniae carried three plumbata in their kit instead of the depicted two then nobody is going to come and arrest you for it.
