Welcome back to part 2 series on Best Impact Driver bits.
If you haven't seen part 1, watch it here: • Best Impact driver bit...
I don't know about you, but I use an impact driver when ever possible. So bits are important when it comes to transferring that power into the fastener.
In this video we are bringing into the series of tests some of the most requested premium bits from Milwaukee, Wiha, Wera, Bosch.
Milwaukee Matrix Carbide bit
Wiha Terminator bit
Wera Impactor bit
Bosch Impact bit
For the test we drove 100 griprite 3 inch PH2 exterior screws into 2x4 and landscape lumber.
For the test we used the Dewalt DCF887 and Milwaukee Fuel 2853 impact drivers.
Later on start with the bosch started using the Makita XDT14. Will get more into this later in a different video.
Each impact driver bit drove 100 screws back to back (no rest in between), alternating impact drivers.
All the screws and bits used in the test were brand new, and purchased with my own funds at my local hardware store. This video was not sponsored and I am not affiliated with any of these companies. I hope this video was helpful, and we'll see you guys.... NEXT TIME!!!

SORRY. re-read my initial comment and as usual, when I don’t proof read, I look more ignorant than I really am.. Your testing is absolutely spot on with my experiences. I’ve found the Milwaukee bits are NOT what they should be. I own a construction company and we go through bits. Because of your testing, I just ordered a mix of Wiha and Wera bits. IF IVE LEARNED one thing over the past 50 years..... high quality, well organized and maintained tools pay dividends. These days, we are booked out months in advance and could easily work 7 days a week.... using better bits, screws etc makes a marked difference in time quality, reduced time and fewer accidental damages

Upgraded from an older 18v kit. kzbin.infoUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv I independently chose the drill and impact tool, before I came across the kit.I like the 3 speed impact gun. It seems more powerful than my older one, and it can be set to be really gentle. The drill is more appropriately sized for my use. I used to have a hammer drill, but I did not like that it was so big and it was not a great hammer drill. I rather have a smaller drill like this, and then get a corded hammer drill for the odd case I need that.

Nice tests. I use Robertson drives most of the time as I live in Canada but I think the results apply more or less. Metal hardness is a significant factor in bit life as its a trade off between wearing and breaking. Impact bits are softer to avoid breaking in hard joint applications so they correspondingly wear faster. But for your test driving into softwood, you may find regular bits to last better.

This guy is not an experienced tradesman. Be sure of that. Using impact drivers for softwood fastener applications is just plain dumb. I never use them. I use quality drills with torque clutch adjustment for the chuck. This guy knows nothing

Instead of screwing into wood, use 1/2" HardieBacker Cement board and screw that into 2x4 using cement backerboard Phillips screws and go flat with the board. This will truly strain the bits, also go vertical not horizontal.
@4thewinak
@4thewinak 4 жыл бұрын
I thought about the different material, but the cement board would easily break after a few screws and not put as much compression force on the screws.... i think...

Here's why this alleged "scientific" comparison is a sham and a joke. One good reason: Observe how this plainly unskilled YT video reviewer drives these 300 screws into, of all things, soft pine common 2 by board. He drives the 300 screws using ALL of his upper body weight and arm strength, and putting totally unnecessary weight and additional torque onto driving each and every screw. As Experienced, truly skilled tradesman will laugh at this plainly amateurish test. As experienced tradesman know, you do NOT have to use such excessive & unnecessary weight & torque when driving screws (or any fasteners) into common wood or even lightweight metal used in most construction jobs. In fact, if you are properly skilled you will know that using too much muscle driving common screws is completely unnecessary. Once started, the screws or other fasteners will drive themselves into common pine 2 by board without the need to use all your upper body weight and strength to get the screws seated. Instead, what we see this amateur doing is driving screws into the board until splinters pop out of the board. Imagine this amateur installing deck boards at your house. The job would be a mess when finished due to splinters kicked up from overdriving screws as this guy does. Don't waste your time believing any of this nonsense since the videos creator displays his own incompetent, inexperienced skill while performing this phony scientific, empirical test. Don't use impact drivers for EVERY screw & fastening job. USE a drill with an adjustable torque clutch adjustment. The screws or fasteners will stop when property seated. All this video shows me is that untrained, inexperienced people use the wrong tool, in the Wrong way, and the results are there for any sensible tradesman to see. Most screws & fasteners will drive themselves into most materials without having to use all your upper body weight and pressure on the drill or impact driver to get properly seated and secure. These amateur reviews are all over YTube and are completely unscientific and without valid empirical methodology. Don't be mislead or fooled by such nonsense

Someone seems a bit triggered here, no need to comment twice about it though. No matter how he handles the bits, as long as he does it the same for all of them it will be a good comparison.

Hey if these bits can hold up to an amateur they should last way longer in the hands of a professional. I haven't had to buy a bit since I got my carbide matrix shockwaves. Been on the same bit the whole time it still looks new because I know how to handle my impact. I've seen people eat up like 3 bits a day and it just boggles me how they can continue to do this and not learn from it. I really just wanted to ask why you watch this KZbin when he is such a fraud? I've seen your comments on his other videos to and it seems like you want to be the one to show the world how to handle tools. Just remember if you do make videos that everyone watching is like you... They think they are the only professional contractor to ever walk the earth and everything you do is wrong.. No matter what! It takes real guts to come out and talk about things that interest you especially if your not a "pro" but when you start throwing the pro word around it opens you up for a lot of scrutiny. This guy never claims to be a pro all he claims to do is test the durability of the bits. He handled them all the same and posted the results. Not like he claimed to be a super mega master pro... For a pro you sure seem to have alot of spare time to watch KZbin videos about things you should know already like which brand is the best for your line of work.. So why are you really here?
