Best Inflatable Boat | Stryker Hunter Jet 420 | Living Off Grid - Boat Access Only - My New Garden is Starting! Black Fish Hollow is an 8 Acre property in British Columbia, Canada. The property is BOAT ACCESS ONLY. NicHolistic and I bought a used in-board boat which has a small living quarters on board but it's a powerful gas guzzler! This Inflatable Boat from Styker Boats in British Columbia just barely "sips" gas and uses about 5% of the fuel our larger "Tuk Tuk" boat uses! The Stryker Boat will be our primary mode of transportation as well as our companion for whale watching, scuba diving, free diving, fishing, recreation, and exploration! #garden #gardening #offgrid #permaculture #backyardgarden #boat #boating

For over nearly 10 years I grew a fruit tree, permaculture, garden, and native edible plant, herb, and raised bed garden food forest. You can still watch all the garden videos of my old desert garden in Arizona. I was born in British Columbia and I have returned to the Rain Forests of British Columbia to a "Raw Land" property to grow my 1st FULL EDIBLE FOOD FOREST Off Grid on a wilderness property. This climate is temperate and coastal, rarely seeing snow in the winter and highs in the 80's (30 Celsius) in the summer. It is a rare microclimate that spans from gardening zone 7-9. The property is 8 acres and completely overgrown, mostly with conifer trees. This area is a verifiable rain forest and situated in the Southwestern-most tip of the Canadian "Great Bear Rain Forest". NicHolistic ( / holisticnicole ) and I will be learning about edible seaweeds, edible native plants, edible mushrooms, and many other edible native trees/plants as we attempt to Build a Yurt, Draw Our Energy Clean, Live Off the Grid, and Grow an Epic Superfoods Garden and Fruit Tree Orchard. Excellent video! A few hints that may be helpful: 1. A long shank lock thru the holes on the motor mount screws will not only deter theft but more importantly keep them from loosening from vibration and the pounding of waves to much so the motor doesn't take a swim. 2. if your going to use the kill lanyard, attach it to you. If you where to say hit a submerged log and get flipped out with it looped around your wrist you may go flying one way and the kill lanyard may go flying in the other direction and the motor wont start without it. 3. I never untie until the motor is running and warmed up. When you drift out it may not start, and with a little wind it might cause an unnecessary drama. 4. The fuel line should snap on without using the release. Listen for the click so you know that you have a good connection. I have run boats to the size of mega yachts but the most fun is to be had on the smallest ones. Red skies at night to you skipper!

Nice boat I have the same model. I run a 30hp 2 stroke up here in alaska. Just wanted to say you might want to tie a safety line from one of the screws on the outboard to the inside of the transom. Sucks to lose the motor, I cable and lock mine so theifs don't have the opportunity to grab the outboard. Nice videos.

Jake, when installing the outboard and tightening the screws down you’ll notice holes in both handles of each screw. Point them both inward so they point towards each other. Use a master lock and thread it in the two holes. This keeps the screws from vibrating loose during normal use. Don’t want that beauty to dip in the sea. One last thing, read up on the maintenance for salt water, it can be pretty harsh on outboards vs fresh water. Enjoying the new adventure videos.

Nice work! Just a tip try not to put oil or fuel while on the water! Also I might have missed it but you might want to make sure your outboard motor has a safety cable or chain so if you hit a submerged log ,or boulder you won't lose your motor into the drink! Enjoyed the video! Thanks again Sixshotsteve

Looks amazing, however there is a very strict "breaking inn" prosess for those engines from new, need 3hrs running max 20% before then doing 2hrs on half throttle then and only then can you even think of going full throttle for short bursts. read the Tohatsu giude before anyone else makes that mistake please. Very important. Then after 10hrs gearbox oil needs changing. Top enging, probably the best....but dont screw it up without following the correct procedure 1st buddy.

I just bought a 14' Saturn and have been getting the kinks out. I ran into an issue and you might too in cold areas. When you inflate to max psi on land, it will lose pressure in cold water over time, so it is a good idea to top it off every now and again or take the pump with you. My tubes got too soft one time and when I increased speed the back of the boat bent down and the motor went down about a foot. Freaked me out, but since then I pump with electric pump to spec psi and top off after about an hour in the water.

to kill the engine you can also push in the button that is attached to the cord (on the throttle handle) its a lot more convenient and its more simple than trying to push the clip back into the emergency cut off.

I have a few acres in SE CT and grow organic vegetables and fruit (pawpaws, persimmon, blueberries, hardy kiwi, strawberries etc.). It would be nice to have something in the southern US too, but after looking at your property near the Pacific coast of Canada, it looks like a nice mild climate where you could grow just about anything. Plus you'll get to see the aurora more frequently up there. BTW, port is left and right is starboard.

Hey Jake and Nicole. So cool that you guys got a Stryker boat. I have one and love it. I have a tip for you. I would recommend when idling your van try to get the rpms up to 1000-1100. This will prevent wet stacking. When you idle a diesel for long periods it doesn't create enough heat in the cylinder for a complete burn. Nothing good comes from that. When you have the heat on in the van you are taking away even more heat from the engine. In the summer high idle isn't required but in the winter it is recommended. I doubt your van has high idle so you can just cut a piece of wood to wedge between the front of the drivers seat and the gas pedal. This will also bring up the voltage in your alternator to help charge all your electronic devices. Obviously make sure you don't bump the transmission shifter into gear when doing this.

...not sure if you edited out some steps, but seeing you rev that outboard like that on the first use, made me cringe... there is a break-in procedure... For that particular model: 1-10 min - Idle; 10 min-2 hrs - Less than 1/2 throttle; 2-3 hrs - Less than 3/4 throttle; 3-10 hrs - 3/4 throttle; After 10 hrs - Full throttle available. You also should be changing the oil (and I'd even change lower unit gear case oil) after break-in period has been completed.

Tried Buick said it before I. Port = Left ...red light Starboard = Right ...green light Fewer letters - red/port Most letters - green /starboard Would invest in quality life jackets and some extreme weather suits. Or even Drysuit's for the both of you. NRS makes high quality suits that are very affordable. I use one when kayaking on the Puget Sound ( Washington State ).

An Angel visited a woman and told her she must give up smoking, drinking and unmarried sex if she wants to get into Heaven. The woman said she would try her best. The Angel visited the woman a week later to see how she was getting on. "Not bad" said the woman, "I've given up smoking and drinking but then I bent over to look in the freezer, my boyfriend caught sight of my long slender legs in high heels, he pulled up my skirt and 'had his way with me' right then and there." "They don't like that in Heaven", said the Angel. The woman replied: "They're not crazy about it in Costco either!"

I am sure you will get Port(left side facing forward) and Starboard(right side facing forward) correct eventually but make sure you pronounce "starboard" the correct nautical way and not the wrong way(which is the correct way technically) like Rachel McAdams in Wedding Crashers..lol

Painful to watch. Best "first".........blah blah blah. I know your trying to figure stuff out, but try going out there and learning a thing or two before spewing. You're not even close to realizing how ridiculous you are right now. I know is sounds harsh..like I'm a hater. I'm not, at all. Just can't stand people celebrating mediocrity they way they do.

Why a inflatable boat? Why not a metal or fiberglass? These boats are around 5k not including the motor. You can buy a solid used boat for that. Just curious why you would choose this over a solid boat. It is because this can be broke down and easily transported? Just curious.

This is not a jet motor. Also I'm not sure why you guys didn't get the pro series. I recently purchased the 380 pro and I still feel like it's important to be careful about punctures.
