I really like it! Great way to keep things out of the way and off the outside of the Jeep

Lookin to place traction boards just forward of this set up.. which i love. Not sure how yet..
@KramerJunction3 жыл бұрын
Hmm, yeah, that would be tricky. I mean, where there’s a will there’s a way, I’m not aware of anything off the shelf that would allow you to do that, but I’m thinking it’s doable? My main consideration with that setup is it sounds like you want some traction boards mounted more forward, I’m thinking you mean over the rear passenger compartment? My consideration is that if you do need to busy out the boards and you have rear passengers, they may not be the happiest post recovery with dirty boards mounted above them raining down who knows what 😂🤷♂️

I have looked everywhere to see if this mount can be used with other farm jacks? Any idea? Thinking of getting this and a Harbor Freight Badlands 48” trail jack but I want to make sure it will work with it.

Very nice video. Just bought a 48" this weekend while at Uwharrie and was wondering how I wanted to mount it. I think you sold me on your idea. Thank you!

Awesome! I’m glad you found my video useful. I really like the setup, it’s out of sight out of mind and I actually use it to hang things off of and there’s also some storage on the top side for some bulky items 👍🏻

Great video. Just got mine in the mail and seems pretty straightforward. You have any issues with the jack rattling around or it loosening up over time?

Dude it works super well. It's out of sight out of mind and no worries about someone snagging it or having to buy a lock.

Do people even use the hylift jacks anymore ? I know of a couple of guys who have them but have never used them because they have a winch.

They’re definitely not as prevalent as they once were. I know many have opted for bottle jacks and safer options. Personally, I just like the Hi-Lift, it has many potential uses other than just raising a vehicle. They can definitely be dangerous if not used properly or if you’re not careful. It’s definitely a “to each their own” kinda thing. It’s also extremely heavy which I feel is the largest drawback 🤷♂️

The tool mounts hamper the use of the highlift completely. You have several minutes worth of unbolting before you can even start using the jack!!!! I get how nice it is to put that stuff up in the ceiling of the jeep, but I cant even imagine how much swearing would be involved in clearing the floor of the jeep, climbing in and laying on my back to unbolt everything before I could even use the jack. Other than that, the video is tits.

would love to do something similar but i'm not sure it will work with my bikini top when i take the hard top off... thoughts?

My initial install was with my soft top and it cleared just fine. I’m curious which bikini top you have?

@@KramerJunction it's a Smittybilt extended top. Wonder of I could stretch it around the outside of the jack or not.

Bad design...You need a jack you have 3 tools to remove that you don't need...not to mention mud and dirt INSIDE!!!
@glidergeek9 ай бұрын
I'm a bit older (71) and not as limber as I used to be, I can imagine the contortions to get this jack out and use it much less all of the mud or dirt putting it back in.
