I buy the olive packs they’re $.99 each. So cheap and yummy. I like to have that with either chomps or cheddar sticks from Trader Joe’s. I also like the individual coconut oil packets. They’re amazing. You can also wash all these snacks down with Trader Joe’s flavored sparkling water :)

Thank you so much for this video. I work 2nd shift and often don't take a lunch break. Having portable snack options is a godsend for me. I also don't like spending a lot of time cooking or baking and I often have a hard time hitting my fat macro. I will be trying some of these options, thanks again.

Be mindful of ingredients if you're strict keto. This isn't best explained here. If you're doing keto for health, these aren't the greatest. Canola and soybean oils are not good at all for strict keto.

Hey Joe thank you for your videos! I went to Trader Joes to pick up some the items you mentioned. My advice to everyone is to be sure to check the ingredients of these products. I noticed canola oil is used in several of these items. There is growing consensus that canola oil is not good for you even on keto. I couldn't beleive canola oil was in the pesto! Otherwise, great video. Thanks!

Yes l I second this. Going keto has taught us all to pay more attention to what we call food. Now, more and more of our community are looking into the ingredients, not just the macros, of food. I would recommend checking out a few videos done by keto connect or Dr. Berg on sayyy sugar substitutes and the effects different oils have. Not knocking you, I like the vid. Just giving some insight.

You missed my absolute three BEST killer TJ favorites: 1) Classic Genova Pesto. 2) Vegan Kale, Cashew & Basil Pesto. 3) Zhoug Sauce. I combine 3 Tbs of one of these creations in a mini food processor with a high quality canned sardine or two, and 1 or 2 Tbs MCT or olive oil. It makes an inexpensive, quick, tasty KETO snack, which is high in Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, DNA, Omega 3, Choline, and high quality protein. And you will be amazed at how good this tastes.

I just want to remind everyone that the healthier the ingredient, the more expensive it is. Everyone deserves to try to eat better for themselves so no need to police some of the ingredients. Trader Joes is affordable. We get it, you can afford cleaner food. If the way he does his keto isn't for you then go to someone else's channel. This is keto for the average person. Quit with the policing, understand not everyone is in your position and celebrate that people want to attempt to eat healthier in a food industry that is based on making the most profit and not caring if we're healthy or not. Y'all really are something else...

Just a tip, the juice those fire roasted peppers were in, can be more than likely mixed with cream cheese for a great dip. I've done this with fire roasted peppers from Costco, should work with these also.

Yes! I love Trader Joe’s. I have a new list of must tries. My new find was a garlic mustard aoli (it’s not new there just new to me) so good. I make chicken salad with it slather it on some meat it’s delicious. I also like the Rosemary Ham and their cheese selection is on point.

I buy Brazil nuts at Trader Joe's. They are less expensive than most other stores. They also have the BEST Blue Cheese salad dressing / dip in the refrigerated vegetables section.

Cool whip is loaded with terrible ingredients. And the sugar-free one is a joke...having just as many carbs as regular. You are much better off by eating pure whipped cream sweetened with stevia or Monkfruit. Or no sweeteners if having with berries.

Most of these items contain nuts, greens and health fats. That means the ingredients are mostly less processed

Halfmoon Bay most “keto” people just look at the macros and don’t worry about ingredients. Trans fat is a fat but it’s still horrible for you. Keto is an anti-inflammatory diet and dairy is super inflammatory but it doesn’t stop people from eating it. I wish people would educate themselves before starting keto. It’s wonderful if done correctly

tawilk I should’ve said “clean keto”. My bad. Clean keto is most certainly an anti-inflammatory diet. No gluten, no sugar, no non raw dairy. It’s one of the healthiest diets on the planet right now. The people who make these keto recipes(cheese tortilla wrapped around cheese covered bacon) that are full of omega 6’s are doing a disservice to the keto community. Eat some veggies and moderate dairy.

Broccoli florets are cooked in the wrong oil for Keto FYI. I’d steer clear. Make sure those dips and spreads don’t contain canola or soybean oil.

there's no such thing as a "wrong" oil for keto. your body is looking for fat to break down into ketones; it doesn't care where that fat was originated.

Agreed. I do keto for health reasons, so I look for foods beyond just macros. I like to have clean ingredients that are good for me. I wish this channel promoted more of a cleaner version of keto because I avoid low quality vegetable oils too.

Good morning Joe I love the stuff that you make I just got told I've been doing keto and I really enjoy it I've lost quite a bit of weight but I just got told that my eyes have been affected from all the salt I've been eating is there are there any recipes or snacks that you know of that are very low and Sodom I can only have 1500 mg per day. I buy 12 bags at a time of those cheese bites, you said they're cheddar but they are actually Grana Padano which is similar to Parmigiano Reggiano. Not trying to be a jerk, lol, just want someone new to know it's not a cheddar cheese. Love your reviews!

The Procuto rolled over Mozzarella sticks is too expensive and have too much sodium. I buy a 5 pack at Whole Foods for $6.99. Yes it’s expensive but less than TJ per stick. I buy two packs at a time. They really hit the spot when you’re starving.

What you think about dextrose in food. I just started in the keto diet and usually people recommended to stay away from it. (I notice the salami sticks have dextrose listed in the ingredients)

Really just depends on your approach to the diet. With how small the amount of it is in each product it will not take you out of the physiological state of ketosis. But if you wanna approach keto as a strictly clean avoid all added sugars in all products kind of way then don’t eat the salami sticks

I appreciate the comments about the canola and soybean oils because that stuff literally makes me sick. If it's making me ill, I don't think it's healthy so I think the "professors" may be right about these oils. Also, if I eat anything with sugar in it, my blood sugar spikes. So, how is that keto?
