The Tank Hunter is my favorite. Spawnsniping tanks on Soissons is unfair but a blast. Also it absolutely destroys enemy armor with the gunner seats manned. But I feel like a camper when using it.

I think it's because people rarely ever get into the secondary positions on pretty much any of the vehicles in the game which in most cases means that the landship isn't going to be able to do much, especially if another tank appears. Which really sucks because I have to agree, the landship is my favorite tank in BF1, it's even my most used vehicle, but since it's based around teamplay and hardly anybody does that with the vehicles, it's hard to really get the most out of it.

i love the landship as well. but the teamplay thing really is a weakpoint if youre playing with randoms. the tankhunter landship can be so powerful if you have all positions manned and infantry support. the best thing is having people staying by your side repairing. it can really make a difference, even fore the whole team, if the tank driver is capable. but people rarely do care about tanks at all if theyre not driving them themselves.

4 years old but I was number one in the world for about 3-4 months, during the early days of the game. This was pre buff. Then they buffed it and the squad support variant was unreal before they nerfed it again. That on Kaisers battle, especially Amien shredded. You could drop ammo and health with it, there was zero excuse for you not to be top player or within top 3. Long time since I played anything, years since I played this game. But it was so much fun.

Minor tip, infantry can easily climb and even sit/lay down on the Landship. A support player with a repair tool can hide just behind the little squares on the top and endlessly repair while being MOSTLY protected from enemy fire.

The Squad support Landship is the best for offense on Operations. Gives tons of points. Always new people spawning in. But you gotta be ready to the center of attentions from both sides. You gotta know when to push and when to rep.

IMHO for solos the Tank hunter and Mortar variant are perfect, but for most cases the landship is VERY situational, so most ppl didn't even bother picking Landship when they can have a A7V or St Chammond. the driver's lack of access to the main guns would be the main issue...

As somebody who spends a lot of time with the HE mortar on support, I can say the Mortar Landship is my bane. A skilled driver can very quickly counter my mortar attack, and either kill me or prevent me from disabling their tank. The 15 second cooldown on the mortar means it's always ready for countering pesky mortar players, meaning a coordinated mortar strike is required for that tactic to work. The other landships are easy pickings by comparison. I don't know if that makes up for the mortar landships other issues however.

I actually do use the mortar landslip quite often. Personally its true there is a fine balance, But what i use my mortar for is for concentrated infantry locations. Also its great for taking out personal motors. Most of the time i won't hide my location but i will distance myself medium distance away so it gives my gunners on the side the opportunity to get some kills. Basically you need to balance the risk. Being too cautious means your gunners will get nothing. And then being too aggressive means i will get swamped. Also the additional seating is very much like the support tank in having 5 seats and its good to use as a mobile spawning point for team members or well anyone on your side. Also the mortar i have found is great for taking out the armoured trains while yes also having to predict a little where it will go. Also the fortress guns can be taken out effectively with the mortar.

I prefer the squad support landship mainly because it's extremely effective against infantry (if used correctly) and if the driver is good enough and let's the gunners get a good line of site on an enemy vehicle, the enemy will go down faster then when I fall over, it's also has a backwards mounted machine gun (and I think it uses the same stats as the Bennett mercy lmg) this gun becomes handy if a support player or assault player thinks that going behind the tank will help them. Also if the driver is good enough he/she will get the gunners into a good position while self repairing, this helps the tank stay alive longer and encourages the gunners to stay in the seat (this is what I do and I end up surviving the entire round with around 30 - 40 kills while my gunners will sometimes have more kills then me). In my opinion this variant of tank is most useful for breaking through a stale mate and/or clearing objectives on operations/Conquest. Sorry for the long ass paragraph

Great video as always, thank you for making them. Honestly the only time I use the Mortar landship is on Volga. It's good there because you are likely going to be facing multiple tank hunter landships and I've pretty much given up on having good gunners, so I usually get shredded. The raised middle point does a pretty good job of separating the maps and letting you find cover pretty much anywhere, and you can use your big mortar to pound on enemy tanks that are out of line of sight or on the middle point which is usually pretty hot.

I'm going to draw fire, but the tank hunter landship is my least favorite and the squad support landship is my most favorite. Reason being that, as someone who ends up playing the infantry side of things more often than tanks, I prefer tot have my team's tanks operating alongside me. Usually, T.H. landships attract would be snipers, who proceed to use the vehicle and its powerful single-shot weaponry to try and ineffectually snipe at infantry (this is particularly painful when the opposing team has no tanks.)

As long as you can coordinate with your gunners over voice chat, you basically have two Haevy Breakthrough tanks plus a tankhunter elite working together. Crazy good against other vehicles. But I still think it's quite well balanced because it has limited ability to fight infantry at close range.

In my opinion the Tank Hunter is the best Landship to play alone. The Tank-Gewehr is pretty much a one-hit kill on infantry and it has a short reload time so it will do in a pinch. It also allows the driver to do what a tank is meant to do, destroy vehicles, without having to switch between different seats. Adding two other crew members makes it a hell of a tank to fight against and a good counter for the armored train

I usually don't use vehicles (and I'm don't know why I don't since I really enjoy everytime I play with them). Anyway, when I use vehicles I, in 90% of the time, take the Landship. I really enjoy the Mortar Landship. The best way to use it (in my opnion) is to use it as flag defender and to keep moving between 2-3 close flags (since, like you said, it lacks mobility). Using your LMG to kill infantry and mortars to hit another vehicle far away or even big group of enemies (but don't take the mortar as "main" weapon). The mortar can be really strong but it takes sometime to learn how to use it. The biggest problem for the Mortar variant is enemy vehicles that are close to you since in 99% of the time you will rely on your gunners to take care of it. I really don't enjoy the Squad Support variant. I can't get used to the weapons. And the Tankhunter can be REALLY REALLY fun to play since you can destroy enemy vehicles and planes relatively easy. Biggest problem would be infantry =(

The mortar landship is quite good in certain situations. In Operations, it can clear out trenches, or those pesky HE support mortars. I usually don't engage directly with enemy armor, but it's great for taking out far-away arty trucks or helping other tanks win battles/push objectives. Example: Attacking on the Battle of Marne, the mortar landship can essentially "snipe" out the field guns and HE support mortars with it's 200m range. The other 5 tanks won't have to worry about getting shredded by 77mm artillery shells or supports chucking HE mortars from behind a hill.

The pre-"Buff" mortar landship was way better than the now current version that has 1 shell that takes forever to reload, and doesn't do enough damage to anything. You need a direct hit almost to kill infantry! Where as the pre "Buffed" mortar landship had 5 shells, 2 gas, and 3 smokes much like the arty truck. Can be used to knock down fortified positions, can be used as a mobile spawn point, and can be played aggressively easily. I miss the old Landship

Quick note: it is very easy for a support with a wrench to climb on top and wreck havoc on the tank. If this happens to you, DO NOT PANIC. Instead, back up and you’ll roadkill them. Exiting the tank will likely result in it being stolen

I'm not that good with the 20mm canon of the squad support, too bad. I use the AT variant when the enemy team has tanks that shred our team. The mortar landship isn't that good against vehicles due to long travel time, but it can be deadly when attacking occupied buildings and positions on operations, and IMO its HMG is easier to use than the auto-cannon or t gewehr. When driving a vehicle, I fear the AT variant most because there is no way you can attack its back or flank without taking serious damage, and its quite easy for the driver to aim that T gewehr on your tracks. These tanks, as you said, are sluggish. IMO the best way to deal with them is to storm with infantry in their "dead angle", just behind the sponsons. Disabling the sponsons with artilery or tanks is a good way to attack them (if you have good aim, the FT tank with the howitzer variant is really powerful against these sponsons, and the standoff assault St Chamond high velocity gun can destroy them from afar).

For me, the biggest sin of the Mortar Landship is using a valuable vehicle slot on a tank that wants to hide, which is disastrous when your opponents are using their tanks to push on objectives. The Tank Hunter Landship is my vote for the best due to its incredible AT capabilities, while the Squad Support is just kind of meh but a reasonable choice for maps like Volga River and Tsaritsyn.

I disagree about the mortar landship, just because the secondary weapon is a mortar doesn't mean you are requiered to use it as a long range tactical support weapon. you can use it to kill infantry and vehicles that use cover, at medium range. sure it is slow, but because it's indirect fire, you can catch people off guard, and at a shorter range the mortar fire lands much more accurately. I do agree that on many vehicle centric conquest maps, if you wanna take full atvantage of any variant- the tank hunter is the best, it's a freaking monster- a train killer. but in Operations for defense- the Mortar Landship can even be crucial game changer. I've had plenty of times on Amiens, Ballroom and even Sinai where I managed to get 5 or even 6 Infatry hogging the edge of a capture zone with one mortar hit and swing the match to our favor, and while it's usually the planes job to sway the odds with bombing, you can't always relay on them.

I love the landship best squad vehicle imo. But I never have a squad 😞 Tank hunter when enemy has lots of vehicles or more static defense. Squad support when team needs a spawn point and we need to push an OBJ. Mortar, if hitting an objective and using You tank as a mobile spawn but squad support is better in my opinion for this role too.

I disagree with the mortar landship at the last place, it really depends on the driver, hell, I was high one time driving the landship and we pushed the RED TIDE operations. Yea you know how hard that is. You have more space for people to spawn and repair you can damage infantry that hide with the mortar from a great distance, for example i defend and an objective while mortaring another to assist my team that are pushing the frontline. Its the best of all variants the tank hunter has less seats so bad speacons when full terrible repair that wont compensate for you damage and a gas cloud rather than the more useful smoke cloud, the tank gewehr is also too slow and risky but useful if you want to snipe tanks. The support while helpful for teammates, usually teammates leave you behind 99% of the time. And the main fun has to load up frequently its good if you get flanked, but you better shots count, bad repair that doesn't compensate for serious damage, and no smoke to help escape. So yea mortar landship conquers but in the right hands, its not about camping at the end of a map, you can camp at an objective and defend with the machine gun, amazing life saving repair that fixes disabled scenarios, smoke to escape and a mortar to help take out targets with great damage at long distances. Only downside is no rear gun.

I disagree with you on the mprtar landship. The way i use it is i park it on a hill nearby heavilly concentrated objective (usually somewhere near the middle of the map). The mortar is a bonus, you fire it on enemies that are out of your range. Once you fire then you switch to your machine guns. Make sure to play where u park is allowing your gunners to also fire at enemies. Also prefferably on a hill where you are able to just reverse and go behind the hill using it as cover. Push up and cap objectives as needed, dont stay there all the time. And don't be too agressive. Using this tactic i survived for almost the entire match and got 20 kills. But a lot of the kills were from the gunners and this a team oriented tank. And so i had the same score and position as someone who had 40 kills.

Mortar landship is best. This lmg is great against infantry on close, medium and long ranges. Good fire rate, bullet speed travel, and takes long to overheat. This mortar is also wonderful. It can kill infantry or destroy vechicles far away from you, or behind some rock or bulding. The only bad thing is that this is the only landship that can not shoot enemies behind it. Also, smoke is much more useful than gas or suply drop

I like your video but I disagree with you. The first priority of landship(and any heavy tank) is to support infantry and suppress enemy infantry, not killing more soldiers. Tank vs tank is an unusual case, surprisingly. Therefore, tank hunter is the strongest but it is usually excessive firepower. The best point of mortar landship is it can guarantee a soldier kill or a vehicle disable because of splash damage and the worst point of other two landship is they cannot. A direct hit on enemy mortar soldier just after his first shot will scared the shit out of him and he will never bother our team using mortar. I think to reduce one mortar and any potential mortar is much more important than to kill 10 soldiers by your side gunners.

Tank hunter landship is best. Me and my friend won against an armored train with one by peeking over a dune and raining hell, then moving a little after counting the train mortar's reload. We targeted turrets first of course. But yeah, give that a try on Sinai Desert. It's insanely good.

A lamp using this landscape because I could basically do black best one side lost the black best skin me and my friend named it's either different characters the gunwale was Macmillan and then there's also another random guy and then the repairer was finished and then the person who was commanding in like the basically the back Ghana was towns in and then the driver was Edwards that was literally what we changed our ingame names to be and I have to say we went 50 to 0 deaths on the scoreboard

In the noob team Mates video you said the worst tank players sit and Camp, and dont help their team cap, for most of this video you are sitting camping and not helping the team, so you dont like it When other people Camp in tanks, but you like it When you do it!?

soo for every playstyle: frontline- squad support variant second line- mortar variant (best use as artillery vehicle if possible or a defence vehicle) close to second line- anti tank variant (can be the mortar variant as well)

The landship is by far my favorite tank. I love the squad support to pieces, and the tank hunter too for when enemy armor is troubling me. I think the 20mm is the best forward cannon, able to hit around corners, dealing overall good splash damage. This allows the most important aspect, in my opinion, which is hitting people inside buildings. A spotting flare or a barrel poking out the window can tell you exactly where to shoot, either a window frame or the inside ceiling. And if you don't have information, the cannon can simply drop roofs on them, showering debris. Either way, it's amazing for taking out the assaults that will be propping up their rocket guns or lobbing nades at you, maybe even the limpet crazy supports

I mostly pick the mortar landship. Not for the mortar, just for the fast firing machine gun. I hate being in a landship that was sitting out of line of sight just shooting mortars and the funny thing is i see them get wrecked when the enemy does push up because their side gunners got fed up with sitting there and not doing anything XD

The tank hunter is best. It is basically an armored sniper gun. The mortar landship is always driven by a camper/tank waster, so dont spawn on it.

I hate it when Im in a tank and I try to support infantry while capturing a flag and 3 Assault classes run at me chucking AT Grenades and I die instantly. It's not fair.

I'm impressed you recommended something other than the mortar landship. Seems like most people playing choose that, even though it's by far the worst and doesn't help the team at all. Personally, I feel the squad support variant is the best, but the tank hunter is good, too.

They neutered the mortar tank awhile back, aways though it'd have been better to make it a "female" variant to give it a better variety of use as infantry support.

my favourite one is the squad support land ship because it has a autocannon as driver gun and a rear facing mg for infantry at the back and the auto cannon has anti infantry capability as well as some anti armour along with two big guns and more mgs

The mark 1 could be pierced by a multitude of machine guns if you shot at the weak points and the welds which were found out when these were captured or knocked out

I prefer the squad support, its not totally useless if your by yourself and with people on the side cannons its almost unstoppable, and it helps your team.

My preferred version of The Mark 5 landship is the squad support since it can drop supply packs while the 20mm cannon is the drivers main weapon for anti-infantry
