A little detail you may have missed is the sloped roof of the stand-off variant. in my experience shells can ricochet off there more often compared to other variants.

A far, far more informative video than AKA-ART's video utterly dismissing this tank... thank you immensely. And I share your surprise at the gas assault being able to be a competent brawler tank...i too was incredibly surprised to duke it out with a heavy tank and win. It's shells are also excellent for dealing with people attempting to flee or people trying to fix it

Rogue-9 other than the mortar truck the St chamond is my next best tank by a massive margin... I think the amounts of kills I've gotten with the light, heavy, and landship tanks combined is somewhere around 600... with the St chamond standoff alone it's around 800... I only started using the gas assault recently.

Gas is best for me. That time delay shell is hilarious when you put it inside a building or a pillbox full of enemies. (First obectives on Ballroom Blitz Operations)

Ever tried mortar landship on Suez and Amiens? Holy hell, it's invincible, just stay behind cover and get ez kills. Teammates will take care of any flanker.

Nguy Hiểm Em actually i have seen mortar landship used on suez once to great effect. the tanker was obviously on coms with the train driver and they were shelling the same area together. They made a pretty epic comeback but still lost the match. Was a tough fight but they got the train just a bit to late.

andrew meek I'll be honest, I wasn't, instead I was fighting retards. Seriously not a single person shot my tank. Unlike Rush, where we got dominated cause our tankers kept picking artillery trucks, then I nabbed a St Chamond. Wiped their team 2 times, till 9 of the 12 were hiding and trying to rocket gun me from across the map. Needless to say, we held. The point is, fuck the other variants, that spotlight is OP for me. Especially as I cannot spot people for shit, even if they're 10 feet away.

The gas variant is one of my favorite tanks in the game. Have they fixed the occasionally strange relationship with physics for this tank? Damn if it isn't annoying when most of the time this tank feels very heavy and low slung, then you hit a small bump and it bounces around like it is super light with a very high center of gravity.

Another great video, Rogue! As always, well presented and good info to have. I've found the pigeon strike quite effective as a last-ditch effort or for rushing crowded objectives; but losing the gadget slot to basically a dead-man's switch is painful, especially as I've found if you are destroyed before the pigeon model spawns outside your tank the strike never happens.

If you've got a good squad, you can time it with a bomber so that just as the enemy thinks it's over and starts coming at you again, they get flattened.

Gas tank is insane on Amiens. The standard assault is best on hilly but semi short range maps. and standoff is best on Monte Grappa. I go through each assault tank based on the map.

I usually gas alleyways and the second floor buildings, it makes it more controlled most of the time and sometimes gets you multiple kills in multiple areas. The only bad thing is that the main defense is dropping a gas grenade, that does little to get an assault class off of you.

Ayyyy Bathtub tank! Thanks for making this video. My personal favorite is the Gas Assault variant, it's just so fun to use and you can get to enemies in places where they think they're safe from normal tank shells. I'd often get grief from other players who think it's the worst variant and/or completely useless. Please do Light Tank or Landship next.

I use the Gas assault tank when supporting a push into objectives and I use the field assault variant when I'm pushing into an open objective area where I use the artillery barrage to clear out a swarm of enemies inside a base. A good place for pigeon artillery is the first base on Suez in Operations.

The howitzer cant turn 360 degrees, but it has equivelant firepower to the artillery truck, so it basically is a moving field gun

Shneemaster OCDubs If you are using the FT-17, then the only way to go is the Flak loadout. You kill people with 2 shots from close distance using the auto-shotgun and even shred people from 200m distance in about 2 seconds. This tank varient is so broken its crazy. Infantry doesn't even have a slightly chance against it, in close and even long range. This tank is a absolutely must on Amiens, when not even all maps when you're going into high enemy traffic areas around flags.

I love the gas rounds on objective based games. Having to charge through a wall of gas can really hinder your ability to defend or attack an objective. Not to mention it gives you intel on where infi are hiding.

Nice and I dislike the standoff due to the spotlight blinding the opposing team and it happened to me in Ballroom Blitz where I was blinded by the spotlight then destroyed my A7V still the numerous premium tank commonly seen on base game maps like Empires Edge Monte Grappa and Amiens with the rare appearance of the Putilov-Garford assault truck and my favourite version is either the Field Assault or Gas due to the front passenger MG position which I won operation Beyond the Marne . Perhaps do one on the Putilov-Garford

When They shall not pass realeased, I was using mostly the gas tank, because the delayed shells are really effective against infantry, even when hiding into buildings or trenches. Then I moved to the field assault to attack well defended objectives (mostly on operations). Its often suicidal, but it helps a lot clearing up the way for your teammates. Never liked the standoff tank: even if the HMG is usefull and the searchlight is great, I find it too fragile for my taste.

I tried using this like the French actually did in the first world war as a mobile assault gun and I was dominating with it by keeping my distance and launching hell at my enemies from a distance where they couldn't hit me, standoff tank kit works best for this strategy

I found that the pigeon barage is good for attackers on Monte Grappa to get past the first objective. I personally rammed my tank on there and activated it. The whole church was destroyed and all the defenders were wiped out. Got have some suicide times every now nd then aye😁😉😂

Straha The Fleetlord Ooooo sounds promising, also which platform do you play on? I only ask because ive found it very easy to drive on console with a thumbstick and settings enabled so that pushing forwards means the vehicles moves in the direction the camera is facing (so with the putilov you can easily drive in reverse and use the main gun, then make the most of its speed during retreats)

Straha The Fleetlord Yeah turn on vehicle aim relative control and decouple aiming from turning (under advanced in controls I just had to check for the actual names) This should make it alot easier to drive in reverse with the cannon facing forward

+elijah almacen it's pretty fast over flat ground, especially when going backwards. If you ever have to retreat, it's probably your best choice. And then there are the awesome gadgets and weapons. Pigeon arty if you like fighting up close; gas assault for great delayed fuse shells and the search light on the standoff

elijah almacen Of the tanks (not including the assault truck), it’s the fastest. It accelerates and moves very fast...in a straight line. It’s actually hilarious to see how fast it can go in reverse sometimes if you get in trouble. It turns like a beached whale though. As far as using it over the Heavy Tank, it’s mostly the abilities and slightly different weapon arrangement.. the forward mounted machine gun is a huge advantage over the A7V that normally has to rely on canister or a flamethrower, especially on a map like Amiens.

Rogue-9 No I mean I see people trading for enhanced battlepacks instead of superior. Like wich battlepack for the same amount of scraps will most likely give the most value

Oh right! From a pure maths perspective, the superior are the best choice since even if you have to scrap the skin you get, you will make 30% of the cost back (20% for enhanced and 15% for regular). *BUT* I usually go for the enhanced. If I get a blue skin that I don't want, it's a 20% return but if its a legendary skin that I don't want, then it's a 60% return. And with enhanced, you have a far greater chance of getting a skin that you don't own yet, compared to superior battle packs and that of course is what you are aiming for. So yeah, I would always take 2 enhanced over 1 superior.

I'm going back to battlefield 1 after a few years and I'd say that this tank is probably my favorite in the game the A7V just doesn't feel right, The HE grenade is fine but the canister feels like shit and the flamethrower sucks. I wish the Breakthrough version had a machine gun for the driver then it'd be perfect.

has anyone else noticed that tanks right now are getting a lot of ricochets. I will be in a tank battle and we both will just keep ricocheting each shot especially from the front. because of that ive been using the gas assault tank no ricochets is very useful right now. also tank tracks have been disabled easier lately as well. so the standoff assault tank isn't as good right now. ive been using the gas tank.

Rogue-9 thx for the update. the standoff assault tank isnt that good right now. the instant repair is very useful right now. my tracks have been getting disabled very easily. and the standoff doesn't have that so ive went back to gas tank. but I just wish it had a lmg instead of the gas shells. could still be a gas variant with the gas cloud.
