I always loved that touch of basil in Lavandula. Makes it a bit more interesting than the lavender in my Pour un Homme de Caron, but both are exceptional scents to layer with. Thanks for sharing Maria!

@@MariaMeliora I know what you mean. Rather vintage smelling to most. I do have Le 3 homme and it's a fantastic clove scent, but again, it takes some getting used to. Pour un Homme Sport gets far more play on YT.

I have a partial bottle of the discontinued : Aqua allegoria lavandula velour. It is fresh and very natural only blended just enough with other notes to be less harsh and give a smooth (velour) impression It is my favorite lavender scent for a reason.

I 100% agree with you. I try not to keep too many note duplicate fragrances in my collection. I have just started myself on a Lavender journey, my first will be Molinard Lavande. I'm looking forward to it, and depending on how that goes, Serge Lutens Gris Clair will probably be my following buy.
@harveytrevino22573 жыл бұрын
By the way, I think the reason Lalique Living gives off a male vibe is probably the pepper, vetiver and vanilla? But just my thoughts out loud.
@MariaMeliora3 жыл бұрын
@@harveytrevino2257 to be honest I do not understand what is meant by "man" vibe. All men smell different between each other, and so do women. Some men like cucumbers, some tomatoes , so do women. That doesn't make either cucumbers it tomatoes musculine or feminine to me 😊
@harveytrevino22573 жыл бұрын
@@MariaMeliora I understand where you're coming from. I wear all sorts of fragrances. My wife is slightly more reserved. As she will not wear anything "too heavy".. Which for her means Tobacco or Booze type of scents.. She has stuff like Tiffany Intense, Narsico Rodriguez L'Absolute for her, Gucci Bloom Profumo Di Fiori. Which all smell great, and works perfectly on her skin. I have a Gucci Oud that was targeted towards women, and I do sense this certain fruitiness from the Pear and Raspberry that comes across as what I consider feminine. But my wife loves it on me, so as you said, what is masculine or feminine?

I really love Gris Clair... I only have a decant but I want the full bottle (old formula, not new formula). Also even though it doesn’t last too well I love the newer Jo Malone lavender & coriander.

did they change the formula significantly? when?
@allanbrenes-valverde12514 жыл бұрын
Maria, thanks once again for your delivering, very entertaining as usual! You answered one of my questions in your previous videos: >= 200 bottles in your collection :) That is something! With regards using fragrances at first day of work, or even more, at an interview session. I feel I am not that into it, meaning, maybe I am narrowed mind in that sense but I have always think that an interview session should be formal and without outliers, HOWEVER, if there is an almost imperceptible note in the juice, like silk to your nose, I think I would be able to tolerate it. Lavandula, yes, it has a very particular name and like the audience explained wisely down below, the way you describe it, feels like one wants to go immediately to look for it!
@MariaMeliora4 жыл бұрын
i think there are a lot of social codes, ever so subtle or not so, ever so constant yet changing that guide our behavior in high stakes social situations. an interview is the place to put one's best foot forward, and in some cultures (and some careers) well chosen perfumes is a big sign of status, professionalism or lack thereof, just like presence or absense of makeup, hair styling, clothing choices. I struggle to imagine a candidate being dismissed because they had an elegant cologne on (excluding over spraying cases):)

oh i really wanted lavandes trianon, but couldn't find it on a good deal. at some point i think lancome website had a sweet set of travel sizes AND a sale going on. I stared at it for days, untill it sold out :)))
@shopqueen4 жыл бұрын
Maria Meliora it’s been discontinued and now people are charging ridiculous amounts. In my opinion I love the entire “original” revamped Maison Lancome Collection (2016) but IMO Lancome is doing a horrible job with marketing, availability and production. The only newer one I love is the Santal Kardamon. The orange bigardes is nice. The iris and patchouli are ok but not amazing. I was hoping the iris dragged would be sweeter with a stronger almond note and an overall better iris. People love it but I felt let down given the theme of the original 8
@shopqueen4 жыл бұрын
Maria Meliora also when Lancome was doing the travel sets they often would have 2 jasmine out of the 4 perfumes on the set. Not all of the original 8 made it to travel size. They should have done a full line coffret for the holidays. That would have been amazing. I’ve posted this on their social media.

I appreciate the "Engligh-ized" pronunciation of these French fragrance names. Never understood the annoyance with imperfect French pronunciation. Why should anyone be expected to enunciate words within a language they've never spoken? Seems strange and a bit unreasonable to me.
@MariaMeliora4 жыл бұрын
Agree. I don't mind when people can deliver a perfect native accent, even though sometimes it leaves me even more confused, if I can't mimic it easily ;)) But when people get preachy about international words that I pronounce according to the english rules, like "niche", "incognito", and others - that's plain bizarre.
