Thank you for the great video. I just purchased several leather notebooks (wallets) for my planner and journal from a well respected company. But you brought up some of the very points that I had considered as I researched different leather shops. I am now anxious to receive my notebooks and hope I did not make a mistake.

I hope so too - let me know which and what you think of them when you get them in!

Your leather work is really creative, Mike! That belt pocket is simply brilliant! We really need to put an end to this pandemic situation... so, hoping they help, best wishes for the New Year!

Happy New Year and!-guess what I’ve ordered??? (Because of YOU…lol)…I’ve ordered my own WILLIAM HANNAH notebook! Woohoo! Coming all the way to the US in just a few short days! I’m looking forward to using it for writing with my various pens and inks. A personal journal? No, use my hobonichi and Traveler’s notebooks for that…Ink journal? No, use my passport size for that…Well…it is going to be a recipe notebook-hand written! How about that? I get lots of recipes from youtube and another pen friend gave me the idea! So….very excited to receive it. BTW-I just got a Narwhal-Schuylkill Porpita-Navy and I am really liking it-Anyway-thanks for the channel and all of the info-very fun! I’ll let you know how I like the William Hannah :)

Today I've got a short video on how I've made a quill pen from a Canada Goose feather, so a little different (and cheaper), but next week I'll be reviewing a Narwhal, which I'm really looking forward to. It's a beauty! Hope you enjoy your William Hannah as much as I love mine!

I think Galen leather's goods are indeed machine stitched. I have a A5 slim notebook cover from them, and from the underside it's very clear that the holes were punched by machine (they look messier than what I would expect from handmade holes). The stitching isn't perfect, but the cover works perfectly for me. The slim cover's design is quite basic. I like the simplicity.

And the main thing is, how you feel about them. If they work for you, that's brilliant. For me they were a little too agricultural, but that's purely subjective.

Those notebook covers are from Galen Leather. Awesome gear……usually……. 😃👍🏻 Very well made, however their zipper cases need more space in to use properly. Have a Happy New Year Mike 🍻

I think I have that exact caliper at work. The only difference is that the storage case is a black plastic instead of grey now.

I've had that one for such a long time now - it was, I thought, hellishly expensive, but it was the first digital one I saw and so much easier than analogue devices. Now, thirty or forty years on, I'm glad I invested in good kit!

Thanks for your review. Enjoy hearing your voice and prospectives on notebooks and pens. Is it possible to learn who makes the leather notebook covers you reviewed today? Happy New Year Michael

The Traveller's notebook is Midori, the thick leather one is Galen, a Turkish company..
@writerlywitterings2 жыл бұрын
Clare is right in her reply, but I believe Traveller's Notebook is now the brand, and Midori keep their name off it? The large leather covers are, I think, Galen, but I cannot be certain. There is no brand mark or name of any sort that I can see on it.

@@writerlywitterings I have several, it's a pity that yours was a bit faulty. Mine are exactly the same design and I have had one for 18 months without problems. I think Galen would repair it for you, but since you know what you are doing, it would be a needless expense to post back to Turkey.
