Great video dude, I know some people dislike tier lists but it is nice to hear from someone with experience playing horus heresy where our legions stand. I chose dark angels because I liked the knightly aesthetic and it was pleasing to hear that they are good.

Just found your channel so I've chucked a like and subscribe to help give it a boost. Especially after your intro, think you made excellent points about the people who have opinions that are more based in experience. Also hoping for more Freudian slip at 28:28. That made me do a double take. "Your Alpha Legion do WHAT?!" 😂 I'm just getting into Heresy (though I've been a keen observer for a long while) and picked up Iron Hands (I love the thematic nature of their Legion in grinding across a table, my first game was exactly that against my friend's Imperial Fists). From a novice, I'd say Iron Hands were in a good place on your list. Ultimately tanky as Hell, especially with apothecary units to back up squads and Mortifactors (the Dreadnought fanboys) to give the units of Dreads IWND and get it buffed by Ferrus. However, as I've scanned through the loyalist book, ultimately we have a good bit less to play with and I've heard a lot of mixed things on Gorgons and Immortals. Would enjoy a video from you on the "elites" in that regard (specialist Terminators and infantry) to get your thoughts on them all, especially how to crack some of them open. My friend really struggled to bolter down an advancing wall of Tartaros and Cataphractii but their +1 to hit on bolt weapons really overcame the negative to their strength. Having cyber familiars to help tank with Sergeants was great, though. I also think Forgefathers are bonkers good, with Melta and flamer weapons as well as their own, +2 to repairs on top of the inherent 3+ repair gig they already get is great. With FNP and an inbuilt cyber familiar, I think the 65pt cost is well worth it. Anyway, that was my ramble. Excellent video and I look forward to more content. :)

Hey James thanks heaps. Yes with the tier ranking its really just based on the overall effects those unique buffs have on the legion in all situations. I actually have an Iron hands Army and they are awesome. In Zone Mortalis they are Brutal especially with the breacher rite of war, In that game mode they will be Godly without a doubt. Packing Land raider proteus with Immortals and getting the jump on the other player is also nuts. Also in AOD if you mass spam armor they can be very powerful plus the other reasons I started. You are in an extremly good place with IH thats for sure. I will be doing more vids on IH to come as they are also a very familiar legion as I play them. If played correctly they are epic good, Also dont forget about cyber familars. Thanks heaps for watching. oh and re: your friend. ahahahaha yes mate. The -minus to hit on bolters is crazy good. Add that to Gorgons as well and the Sgt is brutal as well. Wait till you add Taghmata to your army. boom.

They're not quite good enough to put in with Primarchs. However, maybe throw Valdor in with the Primarch battle (he does have the keyword).

I gotta say i know your opinions on the iron warriors were fair but you’ve never crushed a poor melee army with shrapnel cannons iron havocs and tyrant rockets in turn two before and it shows

Love the video thanks for the insight, do you feel that fury of Olympia could take iron warriors to the good category, pinning on every rapid fire bolt gun even at -6 range could do work IMO, I’d love to hear what you think.

Hi Eric. Yes after review Iron warrior get raised to Good. I also buffed Emperors Children up a bit. With the Kratos is ok. Its more of a Money maker for GW and great fun to paint. Its a good unit but there are other more competitive options if your going past the rule of cool. Its nowhere near a bad unit but not Godly. prob good id say. Also remember I will be doing a review of these every few weeks when I see the meta change or we have FAQs

I agree that White Scars need a bit of a boost. Maybe give them their 3+ jink on Outriders, Sky-Hunters and Javelins back? That would be a start.

Or having bikes as a whole be T5 again, that'd be great or 2+ on jetbikes on more than just the golden keshig... We need that jink though.

@@CommandCentreWargaming Losing jink as stock is a lot as is. Plasma and melta rip through em now, and outriders... Poor outriders. T4 and W1. No tougher than a tactical marine- not to mention what happened to attack bikes.

Some more bonuses for Alpha Legion include that Lernaeans are Line by default, Exodus isn't Unique so you can take 2, Headhunters can use the multi-melta to snipe characters with precision shots...

I'm currently building a Headhunter Leviathal list that uses 4 squads of Recon Marines and 6 squads of headhunters led by a praetor and 2 Exodus. Might swap out the praetor for a saboteur and take Alpharius to infiltrate Contemptors at higher points.

hahaha SAME! Im expanding my AL into a recon list as well. Im using RG units though and Exodus as well, If you are allowed to use Alpharius there is no question in my opinion. 3 units Deep strike and preferred enemy. JUST FOR THAT ALONE!

I know you really like your Firedrakes, but I think you're sleeping on the Pyroclasts - if there's a unit that's going to hard-carry the sallies in 2.0, it's the Pyros. Consider: Rite of War makes them both Troop and Line. 5x supports with meltas, in a rhino, run 195 (are stuck as 'support squads') 5x Pyros in a rhino run 210 That's a measly 15-point tax - and in return you get Free close combat weapons - extra free attacks are never bad. An extra base attack - even more of the nice free thing. It Will Not Die (not super good, but potentially funny) Mantle of Ash (5++ vs Plasma, Flame, Melta, and Volkite) An alternative fire-mode that's a heavy flamer, with the fun salamander bonuses. Artificer Armor! Two Wounds! SQUAD WIDE MELTA BOMBS This squad is literally more than four-times as resilient model-per-model as the most point-efficient source of meltaguns against small-arms fire that people want to throw against troops - and still more resilient point-for-point compared to basic tactical bodies. Against the sort of stuff people want to use to take out 2+ armor guys, like, say, Plasma and Melta? You've got a 5++ and the Sallies (mediocre) trait to cut down their wound-rate. No matter what's thrown at you, you've got a fire-mode that's effective for it - no one wants to risk their overwatch, and even if they slam a dread into them, every single guy yeeting a meltabomb at it will make even a Leviathan question the life (death?) choices that have brought them to this point. All that being said - yeah they're probably still the worst legion. Their trait is 'meh' since it's just situational shooting defense, and their advanced reaction is hands-down the worst of the lot.

Redo the same list but without Primarchs and Named Characters taken into account and I'd be surprise if Alpha Legion stays were it is and that other Legion don't ramp up hard.

Good arguments and I agree a lot but i disagree about what you said about Dorn. I think he is easily one of the best primarchs. He is WS 8 so over half of the other primachs can only hit him on 5+ while he hits on 3+, the rest will be 4s both ways. He is S8 (10 on the charge) with shred. He can only be wounded on 4+ period plus he has 7 wounds while most others has 6. Any unit that charges him counts as disordered. He goes up to 8 attacks if he is in b2b with atleast 2 enemy models. It's true he only has a 4++ but that can be buffed to a 3++ if he is attached to a unit of phalanx warders. He gives LD10 across the board (technically to characters so Sgt has to be alive to benefit but still) as well as +1 to combat resolution across the board. You get to choose what phase you want an extra reaction in unlike many other primarchs who have one specific. He can go up to ws9 if charged in a unit of phalanx warders. People are honestly sleeping on him.

i feel like you didn't go as deep into EC as other legions, as Fulgrim imo is a better then ave Primarch and the Maru Skara is very powerful

Forgive me for this, maybe im just playing against less than competitive imperial fists and blood angels players local to me or im getting lucky etc... BUT, I feel that Iron hands are above balanced but not godly. They aren't as versatile otherwise they'd be up there, but they are INCREDIBLY hard to shift and being able to take wins off of the strength of gorgon terminators and immortals sat on objectives along with VERY hard dreadnoughts and tanks... I feel that they are very very overlooked.

Iron hands are good. Very strong the meta has changed a fair bit since I made this. I will be doing an updated one soon. I played against Morlocks the other day. Really brutal.

i feel the SoH legion trait is really strong for the terminators when they're going against power fist / thunderhammers cause those weapons dont instant death them anymore
