I'm not sure if you'll reply to this vid given how old it is, but... since Red Butchers carry two power axes, are they actually +2 strength in close combat, or just +1 strength (with the extra attack for two melee weapons +1 attack for the world eaters bonus +1 attack again for charging?). I assume if it actually makes them +2 strength, then that would make Angron actually S10 as well due to Furious Charge(2) and gorefather and gorechild?

I feel like Battle Hardened(1) and +1 wound would have nudged these guys in the right direction.

I run a unit of 5 with a conversion beamer in a Headhunter Leviathal list, and for me at least they're super consistent - I stick them on an objective, they refuse to die and occasionally fling a blast template with Blind across the board. Love 'em

Lernaeans have to compete vs every other legions unique terminators. Throw into the mix that you can get WS5 terminators with line already and its a grim picture. I don't think any amount of thinking will make them better value them an unga bunga ROT unit that you just throw at the enemy. If you want line terminators you can take pride of the legion or take a command squad. If you want them for anything else there are better options. I really love lernaean terminators, they look great. I really wish they'd represented their resiliance in some other way like giving them battle hardened (1) or something. If your trying to play a pride of the legion terminator spam I could see them being considered for the fact they get line (which is only ok and really mission dependent). They're def too expensive for what they are. I'd rather use them to convert up a RoT unit like fire drakes.

They should be used like a tactical squad, with more durability. Keep them cheap and don't add characters to them. Power dagger chain fist with Harrower is optimal. Other Alpha Legion units should be supporting them. Medicae is an option but losing the exemplars buff is not worth it. You are better off putting points somewhere else. They are used as tough line units not assault Terminators as you note Thanks for the video

Yo Steve, great vid, enjoyed it. Thinking for ur next vid, review the Legions Astartes Battleforce and as for units, I am currently working on some BA ones. Blood Angels have a lot of units, some are decent but others a question mark for me (Crimson Paladins, Dawn Beakers and that Legacy Elites unit). Angel Tears are ok, especially if they all have assault cannons, but it's pricey and the other configuration without the assault cannons have kinda gone downhill in version 2.0.

Also good sir! I’d love your take on Terror Squads!! I love my squad but they are spendy. Currently running 5 rotor cannons, 7 chargers. And a mix of chainblades and chainswords. Sgt sometimes takes a headsman.

My buddy plays alpha legion- I haven’t had to fight him yet- but got beat pretty handily by a guy playing iron hands- I was using my 16th legion. Good game

Lernaean Terminators often get a bad rep, but I like them a lot! An underrated, overlooked unit is perfect for the Alpha Legions purposes after all. Fun fact regarding the Hydran Exemplars rule: the unit only need to be entirely composed entirely of models with this rule at the time the target legion is chosen, which happens before deployment. After that point, that requirement is gone. So since Independent Characters can only join units during or after deployment, Lernaeans will always get the +1 regardless if joined by models without the rule or not!

Loved the video. I think the points you made are valid. Are contekar busted, nope. Are they viable, absolutely. You gave great supporting arguments as to their use, and their weaknesses. A good point to note, some people suck at certain playstyles. They may love NL but can’t figure out how to get a Raptor squad to be successful. The contekar are a more forgiving unit, due to inbuilt durability.

I always get mixed up on this, if the unit has native deepstrike, does an attached terminator character? Does Sevie give other terminator characters deepstrike?

Heya, I'm currently painting my contekar and thought about listening to some tactica about them. I really liked your video on them! However I think you misunderstood Sevatars WT. He doesn't need to be attached to a unit to dish out his deep strike and prefered enemy rules. "Any units (...) Terminators in the same detachment" - is how its written. So your Terminators get that amazing buff either way. The Atramentar only mention "units" in their rules to ensure the player knows that they also count as Tartaros Terminators for the purposes of the WT. I was a 30k fan like you would not believe. When it went dead, I still played. Then GW wanted to monetize my fandom. Ok. I’ll play along. And then one disappointment after another. GW is a poorly run company that wants to play big, but is nothing than a nitwit who cannot tell left from right. I’m done with them.
