Hello, I am a color pencil and pastel artist who creates realism. I am having cataract surgery on both my eyes and have been nearsighted all my life. I am definitely choosing mono focal IOL replacement lenses because of the decreased contrast sensitivity of the premium IOLs but am having difficulty deciding on which distance to set my Mono focal lenses. Has anyone with the same circumstances chosen both Mono focal IOLs set for near? I would love to maintain my near sightedness without glasses but not sure if I will actually be able to see super fine details and the print on my pencils even with the Mono focal set to near. If I will still need to wear reading glasses to see those details I might as well choose Mono focal IOLs set for distance.

Hello Doctor, I implanted a standard Swiss edof lens with extended focal lengths -1 astigmatism remained after the operation. All distances are clear only in the near distance. I see the letters have a shadow. Is this the reason for the residual astigmatism?
