What wonderful memories you bring back. There was this wonderful lady who used to have the nickname 🫛Beans. She worked in a restaurant in Charleston near the "foot of the.bridge "she called it..She would have a big pot of meaty Lima beans simmering on the stove. Back then if you had skills you become self appointed Manager./Owner. ../

Just a question... did you not use any of the water you boiled the ham hocks(shanks)in your soup? Just rinse the ham hocks and put them in the pot with the beans... get all that wonderful ham flavor. Just a suggestion not at all criticism. Thanks for making this video. I love Lima Bean soup too.

I only boiled them for about 10 minutes(just for extra cleaning) I let them cook down with the beans…If I cook them separately, I use all of the delicious broth that they make…Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching ❤ 😊

Even Lima beans do not taste as rich and savory as the same product of nineties. Something went wrong, there is a hardness and Hybrid thing going on. Please 🙏🏽 can something remain untouched.

I've watched at least 10 bean cooking video. Not one used real Garlic. Some also never even used Garlic powder/ I don't get it. Born and raised in New Orleans, my Country and City Grandma's, my Mom, and Aunts all used Real Garlic in every bean they cooked. They used Pickled Meat. I can't find that in Western Colorado. So, I've tried Shanks, Hocks, Andouille and Kielbasa Sausage, Salt Meat over the years and Ham too.
