I took my mum to the Goring Hotel in Belgravia (the Queen's favourite hotel)f or afternoon tea earlier in the summer. That is a beautiful setting with it's walled garden. You have to give it a go!

This was how we used to amuse ourselves with friends with no big costs! All homemade and using our best teacups and saucers...a vase of our own garden flowers...dressed in our best 😊. I realize that it's a specialty kind of restaurant these days...I've been to several. Looking at the final bill...scary! I want to get back to having tea parties again! We can all afford a homemade tea party...lavish or simple. Thanks!💐

We have tea here, too, in nice English restaurants. It isn't lunch, It is scones, desserty items, possibly small sandwiches, and cups of nice tea in pretty cups. Costs as much as an upscale dinner in some places, but very fun and so worth it! We pretend we are English ladies as we have it.

I have only just come back to England ( 25 years ) - and must say the restaurants in London have upped a good few notches . I think the service is excellent now - much like your experience with the "caviar man" and the "cake women" ... I was in a restaurant ( "Park Row" ) in soho for Pre-theatre dinner , the other day ... it was amazing , service and knowledge of what they are doing and selling is exceptional and the enthusiasm is brilliant. ( instead of caviar man and cake women - we had Nitro-man and Man who served cocktails from a painting off the wall ) Been to a few restaurants lately but find London amazing ( i live outside ) - alot of london restaurants are quirky and the attention to detail not just the food is brilliant . I like this video - will slip the name of restaurant to my sister - she loves an afternoon tea

The sandwiches look interesting. And the treats……Hopefully they taste good. I was at Selfridges and they had quinoa scones one day. They were pretty grim. Little hockey pucks! I love teas and was sad that I didn’t get a nice fluffy scone. Love F and M for tea. This place looks interesting. The posh portaloos are a scream!
