Best martial arts movie of all time. Being 9/10 years old at a sleep over with 4 crazy young friends and getting popcorn and snacks and trying to re enact the moves. Just such a cool experience of being inexperienced. Youth is such an amazing thing bc watching movies like this in an environment like I described its like a trip for a kid. You get so immersed into this film its like you are living it. Man I wouldn't change my childhood for anything.

I was 8 when I repeatedly watched this movie. Other than the fights, I began to be enamoured with this place called "Hong Kong", especially with that meditation scene overlooking the skyline. Many years later I went with the wife (who's from HK!) and my little childhood spark just lit up when I saw the skyline at Victoria Peak.
@stevenjon1347 Жыл бұрын
That's awesome mate. I watched the movie for the first time when I was eight (1988) too after my Dad's friend bought it and let me watch it. From an eight year old's perspective, Asia was a magical place where everybody was enamoured with martial arts, disciplined and honourable. I moved there in my early twenties (S. Korea) learnt the language and studied Taekwondo. I think this movie was an incredible gateway for kids in developing a fascination with martial arts and other countries/cultures.
