Hey Than, long time lurker. Today I realized, I've spent hours and hours with you in training my mind to really take on being a diamond player. One of the things that I love you saying is "muscle memory" because it's true. Your videos have legit been almost like a full time job for me, mimicking, copying, breaking down frame by frame, and REALLY listening to what you have to say. I never once considered doing 1v1, and the only reason I have attained Diamond? It's because of my team mates carrying me. I finally got fed up and started switching it up and I finally feel like after just 80+ hours of following your advice and really honing in on challenging myself, that I will be able to be more than what I was when it comes to RL. Thank you for your content.

I’ve been playing RL for about 2 months, and have happily plateaued at about mid Plat. I feel like that is the level you can achieve with just pure game sense and raw ability just from playing a lot and maybe a few training modes. Awareness and decision making is what people really lack at the lower ranks. You can really tell who has never played or even watched sports before. Important thing to note: these tips are not exclusive to their ranks. Obviously, if you're a certain but you have focused on a mechanic he suggests for a lower rank, then you should be grinding that mechanic. However, there is nothing wrong with learning higher mechanics before you're supposed to. If you're silver, you may want to do aerial and dribble training at the same time. All of these mechanics are things that will get you into the next rank, but they're all things that you'll need eventually, so there's nothing wrong with learning it. Plus, learning multiple things can make your training more interesting and prevent burnout.

I got it pretty recently and am pretty much addicted. I always thought it was football/soccer with cars and I was so wrong. I'm feeling that I'm making good progress and only play unranked at the moment, so I can get some practice in. The one thing I've noticed, over the past few weeks is the toxic side coming in. I'm not sure if there are rules concerning praise but I praise the opposition as well as my own team, for good shots. I got a message yesterday 'dumb teammate' for doing it, so I'm guessing it's some kind of rule. Not that I care, because I'll continue praising but it's possible that it depends on the person playing. Another thing is the way that teammates pull out of the game early. A lot of the time, we get a win but, sometimes I'll be left with bots on my team because no one seems to be able to take the challenge. I've joined the middle or end of a game and it's been 9-0 and still carried on. I never leave a match because I consider that I'm learning all the time and it's good to play against more experienced players. Anyway, yes, there's more to RL and you definitely need a lot of practice to be able to play properly.

@@OnePiece_61 Yes, thanks. I only play 3 V 3 atm because of being so new but I've got a ton of games under my belt. It's going nicely. I was only curious as to whether there were unsaid rules. I noticed some opposition saying 'great save' when they scored... little things like that. All games have these things you don't know about when you start. The thing about RL is the skill level. It's pretty insane what I've seen people do with the ball. I'll play some 1v1 and 2v2 when I feel more confident but it's feeling good so far. The only thing I really don't understand is the rankings. In comments people refer to being c1, c2 etc. I've got no idea what it means yet. I know there's GC, Plat, Gold, Silver, Bronze but the numbers don't make any sense yet but I'll get there. Thanks and take care!

I've trained a few bronze friends of mine, this is what I told them: Bronze: car control, flips, side flips, double jump, etc. The faster you can recover the more shots you CAN afford to miss, obviously you should try to hit it properly, but opportunity VS accuracy, I'd rather have more opportunities at bronze, this allows for more growth on aiming. Silver: Boost managing and maintaining speed, the reason why I don't add aerials for silver is that you don't get the opportunities needed, meaning you'll be inconsistent and you'll get mad at yourself and give up. The reason why you want to conserve and maintain is that 1, it increases better car control, faster recoveries and better plays, with high speed you unlock power shots which is huge for silver, here's an example: You're defending and the ball rolls to you, with your high speed maintaining you get that power shot, it goes in the air giving your team time to get boost. To practice these go into freeplay, keep your boost up and make sure to always go over huge boosts, if you want to push further beyond follow the pads for boost. Gold: Aerials and wall shots, now you'll get plenty of opportunities, with everyone doing power shots, hitting on the wall etc. In gold I figured out that a solid amount of goals come from power shots on the wall, even if you don't goal, you gain more experience along with a good center. Aerials, this one is tricky to practice, I don't recommend doing training packs, go into free play, get the ball in a straight line for kick off, power shot it so that it reflects off the upper wall of the goal, going straight to you, this is a good thing to practice as it's easy, straight, and real in game situations. How do you practice wall shots? go into wall to air dribbles training pack, don't air dribble just get the wall shot into goal, don't get mad if you don't get it in the first few tries, just mess around with it. Platinum: Powershots, aerials, and air rolling. Why is Powershots in here? power shots give you hight, don't hit it too hard though so it goes gently up then try double jumping and aerial, you don't need to aim this to the goal. Once you get this landed, you'll get it on the wall if not a self center, the ball should roll to the upper goal aerial shoot that in the goal, add air rolls for added bonus, how can you practice air rolling? Go into free play, drive up the wall, slowly fall off the ceiling and mess around with it, After you can do these do the training pack Noob to grandchamp. The shots aren't really grand champ, they might take 10+ to goal once, but they provide a free power shot for you and centers, you can really air roll and aerial into it and get the most of it. Diamond, Freestyling, Why is freestyling on here? it's not even something you should practice? many questions, to sum it up Free styling requires extremely high car control and ball reading (predicting where the ball will go) Let me list just a few free styling requires: air rolling, double jumping, wall jumping, air dribbling etc. Why practice what you already know? You need to have these basics nailed down to rank up any higher, Control is everything this high up in the rank, once you got full control it's time to practice by yourself, I can't tell you anything more than this because champ requires game sense, no tips can help you for champ, truly.

Completely true! I started playing almost two weeks ago and im soon plat in ones. But i would have already been plat if i had known one thing earlier… What elevated my game from silver 1 to gold 2 was only one thing. Trying to shoot accurately and with power through the standard shooting packs. However, do NOT make the misstake i made, i could have easily progressed the same amount with a fraction of the time which i recently realised. Do not redo a shot 20 times, aleast not as a beginner. What happens when you do that is that you are less reading the ball and adjusting based on that, and more going off of your recent positioning and misstakes, and making you adjustments. Your reading of the ball will be a serious issue making you less likely to hit the ball in real games. take it from me, unranked to gold 3 in under 2 weeks. I am aware that i am far from good but this is what i have did to progress: (in order) changed my settings according to a yt video getting semi comfortable with boost, gas and powerslide in freeplay basic shooting 1v1s boosting upwards & defending alot more 1v1s rolling the ball around corner boosts in freeplay jump shots with power areals half flip all these tricks are very easy and fast to learn, i hope someone finds it usefull! and now im learning fast areals and then ill work on dribbeling and flicks.

Haha, yeah - tis a bit of a jump there. But really, getting the ball on the car and dribbling is only the beginning. Dribbling is just passing the ball to your opponent if you can't flick and move freely. Trust me, I've lost many 1s cause I can't flick for shit xD

@@XEpicGodX u said u lose 1s there are many things u can do like pop the ball fake a pop and wavedash thats why u should try doing more things rather than focusing on only one, they start pre jumping anyways once u start flicking, u can also try dribble to air dribbles

I think this guy hasn’t seen silver and gold games recently. I just got out of gold and can confirm that gold is mainly boosting towards the ball, not much aerial competence at all tbh lol

For real. Im constantly switching between gold and play in 1v1 and I’ve been playing for 15 hours. Plat is not that big of a deal

Please champ players seeing this listen to the tip he gave. I’m now around mid champ 3 and I have to say the ONLY difference between champ 1 and champ 2 is that the players are looking for more options and creating more options. C3 so far I would say is just becoming more consistent with mechanics to make those options work better

I’m silver right now and you are right that I need to work on aerials because I’m not at all comfortable in the air, I did do all the aerial tutorials and 100% them but the only reason why I was able to complete them in the first place was because I reset it 1000 times and it made me feel like I didn’t actually learn anything and that I just kept resetting until I got lucky. I also keep getting awful teammates that with either rage quit or go AFK 90% of the time.
@BJ_P3 жыл бұрын
So I normally use car cam because I am more comfortable with that but I am trying to use ball cam but it feels weird and I keep missing the ball. I just mess around in free play to see what it would be like in different situations. What should I do to make myself better and more comfortable with ball cam?

I have something to add for the bronze "mechanic" I could be wrong but i think many bronze players don`t know, that the ball gets very fast when you hit it directly after a bounce.

Great video! Small suggestion: Some visualisation for the ranks would have been awesome (either chapter titles or even an icon in the corner or sth like that). This way I wouldn't have skipped through the video like a maniac to find my rank - but maybe that's exactly what you where after, then well done! ;)
