I really appreciate you sharing this - The way you talk is very direct and eloquent and I appreciate it and the recommendations - I was glad to see there were audio book versions of these which makes it even more accessible for a partially sighted person like myself - bless you good sir

Would you recommend Sam Harris' Waking Up App??
@SonamHoani Жыл бұрын
Yes! :) It’s a great app that really honours the complexity of meditation and there’s many wonderful teaches and different approaches on there. I think it’s probably the only app worth paying for. I speak about in more detail in this app review video kzbin.info/www/bejne/boa2YXeFe5yGd7s and here are my thoughts on some other apps kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJXdhXaboNR0frc

Can we truly survive without the ego? Can there be an ego-less survival? Can both ego and state of presence live symbiotically? I think about how the monks rely on food donations for survival in order to devote their entire lives to the search for peace.

I think this is a really interesting reflection. I think what we really need is some examples of “Enlightened,” people living regular or less reclusive lives. This almost makes more sense to me. I don’t see how unlimited selflessness and endless compassion could keep you removed from the problems in this world.

What are your thoughts on the headless way?
@SonamHoani2 жыл бұрын
Honestly? It doesn’t work for me. 🤣 The instructions make me conceptualise my experience and I also wonder when I hear some talk about it, if they’ve missed the crucial point. For some, the exercises are a more tangible way to practice, but I’m not one of them 😆. How about you? 😃
