Disney Lorcana Challenge Event in Chicago is underway & in todays video I look through (almost) all of the decks from the Top 64! There is some really spicy brews alongside the more meta staples which you would expect & I had so much fun looking through the best meta decks in Disney Lorcana.
This is the first Disney Lorcana Challenge Event that took place in the Ursula's Return meta game!

A bit of constructive criticism after watching all the video: I got the impression that when you were reviewing the decklists you focused a bit on the idea you have on how the deck should be contructed and highlighting what you liked and didn't like. That is fine, however, I think it would be a way better exercise if you tried to reverse engineer what the thought process was for the players to arrive to that numbers or tech choices a bit more. Something like "Oh so this Blue Steel player is running 2 Ariel and 4 let it go, they are tunning to try and beat the mirror as much as possible!" is way better content, and I realise you try to do it to at least some extent, maybe it is just a matter of not being receptive to new ideas or game knowledge. I feel like I haven't expressed my point very well but hopefully I've managed to convey it nonetheless. Thanks for the lists and the content as always!

I think you said it well, it’s arrogant to criticize a deck that performed so well in a competitive scene, when you yourself say you have a sorta better version when you didn’t do shit but beat people on simulators. Most competitive groups don’t play on simulators in other card games to not show their decks to others before an event but play with other good players.

We helped duy who had 62 cards in ruby sapphire. All cards were correct at the ratios that he liked. We ran it through the calculator and it works. Doesn't miss his outs. Also humza who made top 8 in the atlanta challenge ran 72 cards who is also part of our testing group. I know higher numbers bother people, but it's been working for us

you don't understand Brennan Decandios math: he plays 14 items, so Scuttle will hit 2 out of 3 times, or you could say every 3rd Scuttle will miss. That's why he only plays 2 Scuttles, he will never play that 3rd Scuttle, genius, isn't it?

Scuttle missing 28% of the time isn't it's only fault. I think players are overestimating the value of digging for their items. I would argue that they're better off playing cards that impact the board rather than spending a card finding a cantrip. A Whole New World can get you 7 cards and if you discard a Lucky Dime you can get it back with Tamatoa later. Even a Ba-boom would impact the board more than Scuttle. Obviously DeCandio is a rock star of a player, and he knows a lot about the game. I know he put a lot of thought into his deck, I'm surprised that he values digging for an item so much.

How is it 2/3 if 14/53 items is about 26%. You draw 4 cards so theoretically you’d expect one of the 4 to be an item

@@carbonadam13 I used a hypergeometric calculater and that's the chances of him missing with 14 items and it's more than 28%

@@VeganCATS1 Its exactly 28.1% miss rate. If you do 14/53 (you drew your opening 7, didn't draw or ink an item). It's also not a cantrip and is never used by DeCandio for that purpose. He was also amongst the only people who played it at all. He elaborated on a stream about it. He says it's Ink 90% of the time, but he wanted it for the rare occasions he can get closer to drawing his Lucky Dime. I've said my feelings on it, I don't value my items as highly as he seemed to for this one event. I respect that. He has good results - I am not convinced by his decision.

Unfortunately, there was a few errors on the deck lists which I used to make this video. The 3 cost Beast which I was disgusted by, is (thankfully) supposed to be Beast Hardheaded. Make sure to check the lists in the description which are now all fully correct.

@10:00 the use for that "make opponents attack next turn" from Reckless on the Merfolk is fun, but it's helpful against Lore weenies, and mostly EVASIVE weenies!"!! singers too! aagainst any big "quest and do X" characters of set 4. Like Ursula Eric's bride which is hell when she quests and makes you discard.. this is why iago in my e emerald deck is tempting

I know there is a lot of talk about Diablo, but does the 4 drop Bruno madrigal count as a draw? It says put the card in your hand, technically it is a draw. Would Diablo trigger, because Diablo only triggers on the draw?

Bruno does not draw, it adds to hand. So no Diablo trigger

I think they reported the wrong Beast. He's playing Beast - Hardheaded. The 5 cost Beast can sing every single song in the deck.

A ton of the decklists were incorrect and were showing their Atlanta lists. Not your fault just the list has some stuff incorrect that will hopefully get fixed. Especially those green steel ones and likely the jafar deck being examples of old lists.

As someone who was there at the challenge and knows a good chunk of these players and plays with them regularly, this video honestly just felt like you ranting to no end and offered very little otherwise beyond “but they’re doing good so yeah.” Idk man, feels cheap

Just a comment on dicandios deck building, and my experience with lorcana so far, is sometimes you just really need to ink something and all of thd cards in your hand are bad ideas to ink 😂. Play a couple shitters

I'm begging someone to use THE QUEEN and BIBBIDI BOBBIDI BOO in Amber/Emerald. Here's the budget version I run. Diablo can replace Donald for Card Draw. Ursula (DoA) could replace Eric's Bride, but I wouldn't run more than two of her. Eric's Bride puts in a ton of work as a Bare Necessities on a stick. Prince John is too slow. Kida is too slow. Lost in the Woods can do everything that Kida can, but the most important thing is The Queen. She can sing We Don't Talk About Bruno on Turn 2 and it's hard to catch up from there. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo makes insane value plays and can function as a way to reuse Morph if necessary. Example play - you could Quest with the Queen, Sing BBB with the Muses (Bounce an Enemy that just got -4 from Queen), Bounce your Queen (you get two cards back), and replace her with Minnie Mouse (Banish an Enemy that got +4 from The Queen), and now you've got a Bodyguard on the field. From there you could drop whatever was under The Queen back down so you can shift her in again next turn. It's crazy what the deck can do, but everyone is sooo focused on Bucky and/or Prince John. Discard is great, but removal is king. You want your opponent to waste entire turns. I've got this lineup public on DreambornInk under "Taylor Wilson: Amber/Emerald - Diss Tracks" if anyone wants to mess around with it.
