"The Adult collector, ages 3 and up" 😂. I love that that statement is so true. I've bought a few NECA figures and they all say "Ages 17 and up" on the top, and (Not for children 0-3 year old" on the bottom. It's just funny to me that they say, "you can't have it before 3, but your also can't have it before 17" 🤣

the little multiverse guy is actually really nice given its size, the cowl on the back side being inaccurate bugs me though. really wish they would try to bring the grapnel feature back like the toybiz one does. also really miss how the older two ones can actually make the bat shape thing with their capes if you really try

Yeah, they had those extra folds of fabric. Man, "cloth" capes on kids toys are so cheap these days.

@@5POAFigureReviews i couldn't agree more, its the main thing keeping me away from most figures these days. on the bright side at least Mcfarlane seems to be trying to course correct things abit (at least as far as keaton figures go), first domestic retail figure we'lve had in ages with a fairly nice cape given its cost

I did the Stealth Iron Man video about 8 months into my channel. As I took him out of the package he broke. I was faced with the choice of giving up on the video or make it fun and keep going. I had decided to do a lot of funny pictures, make a lot of jokes, and to me that's when the channel kind of came alive. Still Iron Man became the mascot, a reminder that we can always make something good out of a bad situation.

I'm glad ToyBiz won. It is deserved and they are far too underrated. Kenner pioneered the action figure industry in the late seventies and eighties, but spent the nineties milking franchise cash cows until the whole industry was little more than repaints. Blech.

I owned both the Toy Biz and the Kenner. I also had that Batmobile, Batwing and Bat Cave. I saved up my allowance to get the Bat Cave, and was so mad when I opened it up to see the back was cardboard, the boulder was cheap and hollow, and everything just mediocre. I also was mad that the armored shell of the Batmobile was just blister pack plastic. With the Kenner collection, I had a bunch of them, and had only the Joker Cycle. That line did satisfy my kid wants, so I hold that line in higher regard.

Yeah, I know about the armor shell but I have no personal memory of it. Looking back, I can see why Warner took the license from Toy Biz and gave it back to Kenner, but I still have a fondness for what they did.

@@5POAFigureReviews I was used to G.I. Joe, He-Man and Ninja Turtles vehicles and play sets, so the Toy Biz stuff felt like tremendous steps back. The blister pack cocoon was so fragile, mine tore and broke within days of getting it. The Batmobile did survive all the years, though. It got sold at a garage sale in ‘06, so it could still be breezing around Gotham even today.

I seriously love your enthusiasm. The Toybiz Batman was my second ever Batman figure. My first being a KO that came as a premium in a box of candy I bought in Thailand.

I'm not sure comparing the Mattel one is really fair given the amount of time between them. I'd probably compare Mattel's version to some of its other contemporaries. But, then again, not sure it'd be fair to compare Spin Master, Mattel, McFarlane to NECA and others. But, I'm here for it LOL. Other than hand-me-down Mego's, my first super hero action figures of my own were Kenner's Super Powers followed by Toy Biz's DC Comics Super Heroes and Batman movie lines. I remember looking everywhere for the Toybiz Batman and when I finally got one being so happy but also confused why he didn't look like he did on the back of the package I'd stared at multiple times. Years before I'd gone to a Kmart to buy Super Powers Batman and fell in love with Firestorm. I didn't regret my purchase, but it took years before I was able to finally get myself a Super Powers Batman. From Toybiz's Batman line, I had the Batwing (still love that capture claw feature), Joker's van (Toybiz later reused this for Punisher's van I believe), the last two seater Batmobile for a while (lacking the enclosed canopy unfortunately) with the the "cocoon" (which was a cheap plastic shell lol), the Batcave (which, yeah, it was a lot of cardboard). When Kenner came along, I really wanted that Batwing and much cooler looking Batmobile. I actually forgot they made the Batcave for the Returns line. That thing looks pretty dang cool. I nabbed the Joker with with water trick, and his cycle, and a few of the Batman's - Crime Attack and Power Wing were the standard, then I got a blue and gray Batman to satisfy my lack of Super Powers Batman, and Penguin, Catwoman, and it took me a while, but I was thrilled to find Robin. Didn't care he wasn't in the movie, I still wanted him because of the comics of the time. My one complaint with Kenner's comeback was the lack of knee joints they'd previously had with Super Powers. Still, a great line though. Those vehicles from the movies are grail items.

Kenner's Wayme Manor playset was intended to be released through the Dark Knight Collection and is rather obviously inspired by the designs and aesthetic of the first film's sets, namely the computer console and the suit vault. The "villain's lair" portion is clearly intended to be Axis Chemicals, complete with a vat you can fill with "acid" to drop The Joker in. For whatever reason, Kenner held it back for Batman Returns, presumably because it was developed so late into the TDKC line's run that preparation had likely already begun for the sequel.
