I wish you had shared HOW you attached your handle on the tiller & other parts that may have required the screws & other parts in package. It sure would have been helpful for newbies like my hubby, who just bought a CRT900, but not sure which way to attach the gold screw in handle. I guess what's so simple to some is difficult for others. I'll keep searching...

Got one this year. Has a Honda engine on it. GC160 Did a mighty fine job. Forward rotation is real good, use the drag bar. Real different tines on it though. Wide blade tines, maybe avoid rocks better, don't know. I had to sharpen them first. They had a flat edge. I just walk along side the thing with one hand on the lever. Nice. No foot prints to see.

Nice to be narrow for going between rows.

I've had experience with two of these very same Husqvarna tillers both of them come from the factory with loose pulleys that would back off and rub against the shield and in no time both of them the transmission started going out

I know the yard boss can be used for several things such as dethatching and but I wanted to maybe use this for starting gardens in landscaping. my vege spot is nothing but 5 by 15 as have background shrubs and drawf trees as background plants and shrub border. If I wanted to do eventually do garden for myself and plant grass seed other peoples gardens I think I might go for this

4:44 I see you also have the stihl multitool as a tiller. I have a lot of rocks sub 6 inches and the stihl is awesome at ejecting those when I encounter them. How does the husqvarna go with small rocks?

it works great, the soil up here is hard especially after it dries out via rain and the machine is working up very well

Just a question if I may. The Briggs and Stratton has one and a bit more horse power than the Honda engine in the drt900 offers. Honda seems to be a particularly reliable engine ( I have a few) , do you think for such a machine that a horse power is a reasonable trade off for Honda reliability? I have some rocks to deal with, what does an extra horse power add to the mix?THX!

I rebuild&fix and use both honda and b&s engines&motors for life, Briggs alot better for abusing and hard conditions, honda good too but it requires reqular service and good quality oil and fuel, for beginners less headache with Briggs and Stratton

So what positions do I want to set the the levers at to be able to start the damn thing it’s for a red switch the Manuel is useless when it comes to it and there’s no indication as to what is full choke and half.

I'm on my 5th year with this, the Briggs and Stratton is terrible. Been working on it for an hour and haven't been able to get it started. And I'm gentle on this. Get the honda engine, American made means broken and not working.

Farmers no longer plow fields because it mixes the topsoil with the clay underneath. Then their field becomes less fertile. Plants are very strong and will grow fine without it. Just poke a hole in the ground with a sharp object and put in a seed or seedling. You don't want to use tillers either. They screw up your garden's fertility too. To loosen the soil water it heavily. But stop before puddles form. Then start planting.

Tillers are indeed not needed in a established garden, other than mixing in compost if the soil is poor. But for breaking new ground they are needed, especially in dense clay

Anything Troy built is trash. I have 4 commonly used brands and my Troy's were always the first to go bud. I hope your continued success with Troy goes well. But in my Opinion as you shared, I believe this video is the go to choice for brand.

I picked one up and it was junk it was making a grinding noise and it was just junk then I went back and swapped it and it was stuck in gear and as soon as it was put in off it went. I had to go back number 3 from the same store I got the 17 inch wide one the bigger one and it went ten feet and the tines broke off and never snapped the shear pin so back I went and got a troy built and I was able to do my garden. never will I buy just junk in my life 3 tillers and none would work even in very light soil with NOOOOO rocks you must of got a good one because two lowes I was at said every one they have sold came back not just my tillers x3 all for the same thing broken welds grinding and stuck in gear

@RMSpeltzFarm Жыл бұрын
we could be wrong but since the Cub Cadet rt 65 was the made by the same group people I dont think you can buy either now, it appears you cant get new tillers like this anymore unless some has 2020 model or older for sale anymore which is sad, they surely are good machines
@jwhite64126 ай бұрын
Had one. Too narrow for gardening. Handles for a short person. Watch the wheels. If you don't take them off regularly ' they will weld theirs selves onto the rod. No grease fitting. Good motor. Crank every time. My lasted 12 years. Buy one at least 16-18 inches wide. Gear shifter broke I do believe they quit making these. Best one I had was a proline pro. Quit making those too. All you can find is this China crap. Don't last at all.

If it is a "counter rotating tiller" it is TERRIBLE for rototilling a garden that has been tilled before!!! I know, i kick myself in the butt every year after spending 600 on a Troy Bilt COUNTER ROTATING TILLER. You will to... There is not enough weight on this machine to keep the wheels turning through the soft soil. If you're looking for a really good work out every time you use this thing then buy it. Because you'll be pushing it all the way.
@RMSpeltzFarm3 жыл бұрын
I love ours, I wish they were still made. I have had ones that rotate with the wheels and in hard clay they cause the machine to jump ahead. When you have counter one it doesnt do that and hence I like it. The DR ones made if you spend little more you can switch between rotation direction and that really solve the issue for sure. have great day.
@rickjames69483 жыл бұрын
First day using a tiller? Lousy job. You need to let it dig MUCH deeper to loosen the root area. Kids....... You guys would starve if you couldn't visit a grocery store.

Self sustainable farming is how we live and works great, no reason to go to grocery store if you raise all your own meat, dairy, grain and produce.
