It's a 1970 Corvette with a Small Block/Auto combination. $20k for it is actually high for what they sell for with the same configuration. The autograph adds NO value to the car.

The more times passes, the rarer and more valuable they will become obviously. I would pay 30-40k for that car believing I would be able to get quite a bit more for that when the electric cars take over.

I got a desert of the month for 12 months. It was actually pretty awesome but not a Corvette. I just walk across the road, my neighbor has a Corvette and a Hellcat so I get my jollies at his house.

My first thought was with all the suitable Corvette appraisal entities out there, who was she to evaluate this car. I know my way around Corvettes and I feel that she did her homework, didn't say anything stupid, and I feel that her evaluation was well thought out and quite accurate.

Very Nice. What a story, thanks for sharing. I had the pleasure to be in Bowling Green at the Corvette Museum on the 50th Anniversary in 2003. They had a huge turnout that day with a complete car show with many owners showing off their beauties. Hold on to this gem.

Newman wasn't reclusive, he would separate himself from Hollywood to be in motorsports events all over the country sometimes surrounded by thousands of people.

He even "shushed" my in-laws at the Cineramadome in 1983. My Father in law was a huge fan, and when they brought my baby sister-in-law to a premiere and she started bawling, Newman shushed them and FIL about died.

Racers in the SCCA events he competed in, treated him like a racer, not a celebrity. No crowding around for autographs, or standing around staring. He treated us like friends and fellow competitors. I would say hello, or good morning to him, in passing, just like, I would do with anyone else I don't know, and he would look you in the eye, and return the greeting. No one expected any more than that, of him. Great guy, in my book, and well respected in the racing culture, for his skills.

@@kristin4840 You probably saw them, because your parents, siblings, etc. exposed you to them. They aren't the type of movies that were heavily rereleased or run on major network television. Those older westerns didn't age well with younger generations, which is why a new breed came out in the 90s. It's all subjective, but just because you're familiar with the guy does not mean you can infer that he's well-known and acclaimed by the general public. Paul Newman is not someone comparable to people like Jimmy Stewart.

Just because he was, "before your time", doesn't mean you have to remain ignorant, with all due respect. The lowest value 3rd gen Vette, (350 c.i. automatic) but elevated solely by the signature/provenance. A cute publicity gag by the people who gave it away. That said, I love the body style, I had a slot car of that body.

he could just make money charging people a couple bucks to have their picture with it. Little more money for the privilege of sitting in it. And then you have to pass my dad's test to see if you're worthy. 1) are your hands sticky? 2) anything in your pockets like keys that might scratch the leather? No? OK. Get in. I thik the appraiser is WAYYYYYY short on her estimate. That car, in the right auction, could easily go for a million plus. Steve McQueen's "Bullit" Mustang is a classic example of that--it went for $3.74 MILLION To the right person, these vehicles are prized and sought-after--especially if it's been affiliated with a movie star/race car driver.

$65k is fair. It wasn’t owned by Newman, he just happened to sign the dash. It’s not a particularly desirable car as far as C3s go, a small block automatic isn’t a high dollar car.

She referred to the Mako Shark concept car, which is where the C3 styling comes from. Technically, only the '68 C3 was badged "Stingray", C2 is "THE" Stingray. You , Chris Tolbert , don't seem to Know enough about Corvettes, to be Trolling Her.

Machiah some of the shows rarely give you rare classic English Porsches or Aston martins and other things that are interesting rarely but usually it’s grandpas fix up with some 1950s chevrolette as classic and that put me to sleep during the government process about money…with boring information about an old car not interesting ..old cars for old people which is snoozeville.
