Arn thanks Patricia, a nice route with some pretty rolling countryside. Ancient markings were curious too, next time I'd like to explore a bit more off piste. I'd just recommend driving around the top of Swindon as it was stop start in traffic like any city I guess.

Thanks Gareth, I didnt realise the spooky goings on in Avesbury otherwise would probably have stopped to walk round. The red lion pub is allegedly haunted. One ghost is thought to be the wife of a soldier returning from the civil war. He found her with another man so shot the man dead then threw his wife down a well with a boulder on top for good measure. Odd things have happened in the pub. On one occasion a guest ran to the landlord to bring him to the chandelier spinning in the lounge area. The landlord looked around the room & said, ah then went back to his duties. Another guest was sitting near the chandelier, he had a large beard. Its not sure whether it was the lover or the husband of the wife that had a beard, but the odd thing has happened when a man with a beard visits the pub!! Yep the Swindon loop was a nice ride out. We stopped at the White Horse pub near Uffington, no ghosts there!

Hi like the video funny enough I was watching the motorbike show with Henry Cole, and he stopped in Royal Wootton Bassett, and commented on the Townhall that was supported by 15 stone columns, which you went by in your video. 😊

Coincidence, I like the motorbike show too! He's very enthusiastic. Yes I can relate to a few of the places he's ridden in the last series, the Hardknott Pass especially & the Cotswolds, cool places to ride.

Nice ride. But are there places where you can just park your ride and explore rather than just ride through?

Yeah there was a public car park I rode into & out of again as didn't want to stop. It was a pay & display. There are brown tourist signs giving directions to the sites in the area so you can visit & walk around. I selected this route then went for the great ride, not so much thinking about Uffington Castle & the Henge stone circles. The castle was just a brief stop at the bottom of the hill. If you wanted to explore you could but I'd suggest parking in the main car park. Retrospectivly I wish I did stop at the Stones & the haunted pub, that looked interesting. Cheers, Daz.

Do you a day nav app to plot your route ?

Hi Nick, I just use the BMW app to pin point the route. Calimoto is a popular route planner.
