6:29 is a good example of the issues I’ve been having with riding jeans, look at where the knee armor is on the model, it’s on his shins! Manufacturers don’t make them adjustable enough, a fatal flaw… 😒
@sereneturmoil2 жыл бұрын
I agree with you that there needs to be better adjustability built into the armour of riding gear. However, to see the knee armour below the knee while the wearer is standing is fine because when the legs are bent into the riding position the armour will likely be right where it's needed; at least that's my experience with every pair of riding pants I've owned and worn. But finding the sweet spot for that to happen can certainly be a tedious task when repeatedly taking the pants off and putting them on again to check the armour position.

The Pandas seem nice but I'm not sure about that sizing. My regular jeans are 30x30 and my riding stuff is 30x32 to maintain coverage while on the bike. The Pandas coming in at 30x34 (literally all sizes are length 34) I think would just be too long. I don't mind hemming but I feel like the armor would sit too low to be useful.

@Hansengineering2 жыл бұрын
Here's the thing; fabrics, ALL fabrics, only BARELY help at keeping your skin intact. Regular denim + kevlar lasts about 2 seconds of sliding. You NEED that armor in strategic places to minimize injury in any moderate to high speed crash. The other way to go is leather chaps which will protect covered areas in a slide, but still offer no impact protection.
