There’s a reason this is my favorite arc in MHA, on top of Jirou being my favorite character her getting her time to shine with her music was amazing. But above all else Eri finally smiling and such a BIG and wide smile, the shadows over her that overhaul created gets torn away by the light.

What people forget is that MHA was based on American hero comics. This arc was a good call back to the silver age of comics, where villains where really exaggerated, flamboyant and mischievous rather than an outright danger. It was a really good way to make a callback while still making it relevant to the series, where the stakes were not life or death but still important.

Bawled my eyes out when 1-A performed, this arc was masterful writing. The season was so dark & the festival was a release from the accumulation of darkness so far. Up to that point, Deku faced true evil for the first time. The beauty contest, the obstacle course, the concert, the play, it was *Chefs Kiss*

This season has a great balance about itself like the previous seasons between having an arc that's heavy on the world building stakes (Overhaul) and one that's dealing with the repercussions of the past incidents by having an event meant to celebrate the students themselves (festival). It's pretty much the consistency My Hero Academia has with itself in these seasons between character development where it's necessary and fights that makes sure the audience has their heart medication ready for that I love (despite some of the shows flaws). Even in arcs that take place in the school itself (festival, the sports tournament, the final exams) are absolute highlights for their surprise quality (even having fun with moving into the dorms for the first time).

This is definitely the most emotional episode do to the fact that Sir NightEyes died and Lamillion losing his power...and then the whole Gentle backstory it set us up for what I think is the most epic concert in anime history this episode is definitely in the Top 3 best episodes of MHA 💯🔥

How do people not like this arc? Mirio and Ari are amazing, I found the arc to be do exciting. I cried when Sir died, that was hella sad, overhaul is screwed and can't heal his legit closest thing to a father to him. This song was also amazing, the characters attitudes and drive felt amazing. My favorite is episode 13 of season 4 because that’s when might u played when Deku catches Eri. That was such an amazing scene, but this episode second favorite episode for wrapping up Eri’s sadness, and that was so cool and sad to see her smile for the first time when the darkness of overhaul left her. Those scenes need a Grammy.

This season had the advantage of having one central point the entire season can rotate around (other than Deku). That of course being Eri, the sports festival from season 2 wasn't something that Stain cared about and the heavy League of Villains focus to start season 3 capped off with the defeat of All for One in the middle.

Two things: Key oh ka for Jiro’s (Kyoka/Kyouka’s) name, and Neh jee reh for Hado Nejire’s. But OMG I loved this episode. The symbolism of Eri bursting out from under the shadow of her trauma, Mirio’s reaction, how the police were kind to Gentle... And the implication that maybe the school would not have cancelled the event even if he had gotten to the school grounds because what they have to protect is not only the physical well-being of the students, but emotional and mental as well. You know the two teachers weren’t dumb enough to believe it was just a disagreement but they accepted it and didn’t report it as an incident. And Hound Dog said to not just fight ALONE, but to rely on them as well. It’s nice seeing the softer side of more of the staff at UA.
