The detailed explanation of each step was very clear and helpful and will help improve my skills. Since the pandemic, I’ve taught myself to manicure my own nails and I’ve accumulated a small horde of polishes. I enjoy changing colors about 2x a week but because it is sometimes difficult (shaky hands), I found myself putting off changing colors often. I discovered the “Poppy” by Olive & June and this has helped so much with the shaking. Excellent tutorial. Thank you!

It’s nice to see a manicure tutorial! I have chronic hangnails and I’m a picker 😫 I use some nippers but I will most definitely over clip them to the point of bleeding sometimes... I also cannot stand the hard indurated skin that has formed on the sidewalks and clip that. I don’t know what to do about either... the hangnails or the hard skin. I moisturize them often. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you for your awesome information 💞

hello love yhour videos ...im just starting out as nail tech, i need to know the best builder gels to use...and what arylic system do you think is the best, i tried the new polygel sculpting gel, it's a little weak thank you
@meticulousmanicurist7 жыл бұрын
Polygel is on backorder where I live so I have not tried it. I was wondering how well it held up. I have not seen anyone demonstrate a nail fill with it yet? I don't like gel for these reasons. 1-It is brittle in the winter and pliable in the summer. 2- You can not do a nail fill in 45 min and that is a must for me. 3-It is not as strong as acrylic 4-It sometimes shatters. I use a combination of products, that is what I have found works best for me. I use NSI Attraction Liquid and CND powders.

+Nicole Garcia I have a few gel mani videos posted. The trick is to wrap one hand and work on the other hand, you shorten the nails and push back the cuticles, file the top coat off. Then wrap the second hand. The first hand should be ready to scrap off, then shorten etc prep, and then the other hand is ready.

Do you offer a spa manicure ( with a scrub and mask)? I’m a new nail tech and got my first job at a spa they offer 3 services for nails just an shellac manicure, men’s manicure and pedicures. I would like to talk to the owner about adding more services to the menu. I was wondering your thoughts on adding a scrub and mask to a manicure.i love watching your videos! Your videos have helped me so much while in school and now while I’m working in the nail field. Xoxo

Most clients want an efficient service without having to be in the salon for a long time or pay extra. They can live without the scrub and the mask. I used to offer it but I took it off the menu. They don't offer a regular manicure with regular nail polish? Do you do any acrylic nail services?

Two questions: I heard from a nail tech that you're not supposed to file nails left and right (in many directions) because otherwise the nail breaks/weakens. How true is that? And second, how important is a cuticle remover to get a lasting manicure?

Hi Lori, how do I prevent hangnails from forming because of nipping dead cuticles?
@rocketmom606 жыл бұрын
Lori, I just recently subscribed to your channel and am making my way through your videos, so please forgive me if this has already been addressed in a prior posting. Do you have advice for growing strong nails? I take 5000 mcg biotin which is supposed to be good for nails, however, my fingernails are so thin that when washing my hair in the shower, a single hair can split a nail. Also, whenever I break a nail, it is always well into the quick so it takes forever to grow that nail out. I've used Hard as Hoofs and Barielle nail creams, as well as the brush on nail strengtheners with no success. When I finally get all nails to a point where I consider them to be looking decent, one by one they start breaking and I end up clipping them all back so they don't look ragged etc. Thanks so much for any advice you can share with me.
@tiffanyhaltom21275 жыл бұрын
1. Keep your nails moisturized. Drink a lot of water daily and try to avoid soaking your nails in water or using soap/drying agents (acetone) on them. This weakens the nail. When you wash your hands, remember to apply cuticle oil and/or hand lotion. 2. Biotin and iron help keep strong nails. If you're anemic you'll most likely have brittle nails. 3. Give your nails a break from polishes/strengthening polish. That actually counteracts what you're trying to achieve. Use a keratin oil with cuticle oil. 4. Instead of clipping, try lightly filing the nail down. If you notice the nail becoming weak, file it down and wait for new growth. 5. Unfortunately sometimes genetics aren't favorable. Just try your best to take care of your nails ☺️

hi nice tutorial. I have a couple questions, 1. is it always a good idea to add cuticle oil right after the mani, or will it interfere with the polish as it's an oil? I always wonder about that and skip any cuticle treatment til the next day because of it. 2. I see you moved from coat to caot with extra trying time. I know base coats usually dry quickly, but what about the polish? is it a quick dry polish?
@meticulousmanicurist7 жыл бұрын
+mleedeau the oil does not interfere with anything as long as it is applies after you polish and not before you polish. It is not a fast dry polish. If you apply it properly, very thin coats, it is dry enough to apply the second coat within 30 sec or so.
@mleedeau7 жыл бұрын
