I’ve been saving for a 2011 & like the Bul. The only things I don’t like are not being able to find any locally & the lack of threaded barrels. I even contacted the company & they didn’t seem too interested in making the barrels. Without that, I’m still looking at Staccato, the various “Turkatos” & even the SA Sig 226. We’ll see I guess. Nice video & nice review, Tim!!
@tyrantworm73926 ай бұрын
It depends what you want it for I think. The 226 is a great duty gun, but I prefer shooting a well tuned 2011, both have good off the shelf quality. I only have about 5k rounds though the Sig though, over about 10 years. When I was a sweat I used to put that through other guns in a month.

The only bad thing about BUL Armory is that you cannot try one before you buy due to lack of availability!! Have rented the Staccato XC several times now at my gun range and it is without a doubt one of the most enjoyable guns on the market that I have shot, no question!! The last time I rented the Stacatto XC, I also rented the Sig Sauer P226 X5 Legion to see if it lived up to the hype. Keep in mind that I have owned the original P226 Legion now for several years so I am very familiar with the platform - love the way it shoots!! As I was shooting the X5 Legion alongside the Staccato XC, I could not believe how well the X5 shot......the low recoil soft shooting personality of the gun, the exceptional trigger, and the return to target with the slide literally blew me away!! The X5 Legion shot very close to the Staccato XC in every aspect, I couldn't believe it. For less than half the price of the flagship Staccato XC, the X5 delivers. My range, Defender Outdoors in Fort Worth, Tx, had a vendor show and was offering 13% off on all their guns they sell so I picked up the P226 X5 Legion for $1900 versus the normal price of $2200. I will never look back, this gun is a flat out shooter so much so that like the Staccato XC I would call it a cheater gun - this bad boy makes it easy to hit your target no matter your skill level........

I'd be interested to hear MAC's take on the Bul Amory Axe series of pistols. Basically they are Gucci'd put Glock 17 or 19's for similar prices to regular stock Glocks. I would be interested in seeing how you think it stacks up against a regular Glock and then the more expensive Gucci Glocks like Shadow Systems or Zev. I'm not really a Glock fan, but the Bul Armory Axe series has me very very tempted.

BUL Armory is becoming of the most quick to innovate gun company on the market!! Recently at GUNCON 2024 they have already shown a model they will be introducing in 2025 that will have a ported barrel along with a built in compensator.......This company listens to their customers input on their guns and implements changes the next year!!!!!! Wish some of the other gun manufacturers would move that fast. They are already getting the reputation for being one of the best shooting guns on the market for a decent price point. My only wish is that they could increase their manufacturing capacity to meet the demand.......you can't try before you buy! But with all the great publicity they are getting from You Tubers and serious shooters, I may just buy one without trying it out.....if I could get one!!!!

Don't forget the magazines. While proprietary, they are more affordable and more reliable than 2011 magazines. Because "real" 2011 tubes change every year with every manufacturer. Meanwhile, BUL has better geometry and capacity. Imagine having a 20rnd 126mm magazine for your 2011 that locks back on an empty slide. Not gonna happen.

I was not satisfied with the Bul Armory Cleaver that I bought. The ejection pattern was unacceptable. However, the difference in price between the Cleaver and Bul's 2011s is >$1500. I imagine their QC scales accordingly. MAC said it (sort of). The reason 2011s are so expensive is because 1911 shooters want the same manual of arms in an updated 9mm platform. And many younger shooters see 2011s and just assume theyre the best option. Until these sentiments change, the prices will remain the same. If you want a cheaper 9mm SAO carry option, look into a Beretta 92XI or P226 SAO

For $2250, it should come with a friggin’ holster! And it seems spending this kind of money for a firearm will become or has become the norm. Sadly, even if I could afford it, I can’t even own it in Illinois. That said, no way would I spend that much for a carry gun and risk not getting it back or not getting it back for potentially a year or years and or it not being in the condition it once was.
