the suspension has different parts on the toyota and it also has different body panels like the front bumper. the last generation are basically identical twins.

Nose is different. Interiors are identical if you don't count the logo. There are some fairly minor suspension tuning and hardware differences that make these two drive differently. The Toyota is more tail happy and stiffer. The BRZ more compliant and rotates less readily.

So I started looking at 1yr old used ones and they were going for around $30k. I found a 1yr old Corolla Apex with the M/T for $26k. In your "figuring", don't forget the insurance rates. Thought you found something nice you can afford? Think twice, check out those rates. Older now? Never had an accident--that won't keep the rates down, you will go into the same hopper as the idiots, who are young and kill people. Check out the rates before you jump--then if it seems you can afford those rates, go for it. I had a 25 year old Acura, 2.6 four----insurance was HIGHER than my Truck and Subaru COMBINED. All because the power to weight ratio meant "no, no, you have to sell that one now".
@revmatchtv Жыл бұрын
Great point. Insurance rates vary quite a bit from State to State, car to car and person to person.
@jimquantic Жыл бұрын
@@revmatchtv I imagine that is true, but I for one did not find it true. At 67--and no accidents/tickets in 50 years, my rates were sky high for a 20 plus year old Acura CL, all because I was in the "same hopper" with others who dared drive a V6 with some get up and go. I sure did not see any break for the "old guy with no tickets", so much so I had to sell the car. I'm just saying get your rate BEFORE you go get a nice car--if the rate is OK, great. But if not, know in advance. I didn't do that and got the big surprise AFTER buying the thing.
