Yes, taking notes digitally can be quite effective, since note taking apps on Android tablets / iPads offer a lot of flexibility in terms of editing and rearranging content, whenever you want to. Personally, whenever possible, I do use an iPad to take notes. That said, there are some practical challenges like : - colleges or teachers may prohibit the use of electronic devices in the classrooms. - you have to be conscious of battery usage and have enough charge to last for the whole day. - carrying your tablet / iPad in a bag in public transport comes with the risks of damage or theft. So, if I am taking notes at home or at office, I prefer an iPad. If it is a public place, I prefer a normal spiral bound notebook. Later on, I just take a photo of the notes into the iPad and edit it as required.
