In this video, we look at a variety of note-taking softwares and discuss which one is best suited for programmers.

Typora is so great. Simple, clean, and gets out of your way to let you write your notes quick. Plus if you work out of a directory that you have synced with a cloud storage provider like Dropbox or OneDrive you can access your notes from anywhere. Notion is probably the best other option out there, but because it's an always-online app it lacks the smooth and snappy experience of offline apps -- I don't want to wait through loading spinners when switching between my notes.

It has inbuilt latex math + code blocks + diagrams (without downloading any extra package, including something etc. ). My college assignments were so smooth. Just waiting for a presentation version.

Typora is NOT free open source software, it's commercial proprietary software that is only free of charge during beta.

As you mentioned it would be worth the price for sure. @Happy Coder Thank you for a wonderful introduction to *Typora.* I want to compliment the attention you gave to the way that Typora can create searchable *headers* within our documents. The support for table creation is incredible, *and* it's also impressive to see Typora's support for auto completion, and full syntax support for JavaScript and other languages.

I'm baffled as to how the lack of autocompletion could be a 'fatal flaw'. You have to press the exact same characters you would type anyway in order to move the cursor past them. It does exactly nothing. Will someone correct me?

I tried really hard to love Evernote becuz of code block but that shit is slow af, One note is awesome but I could not find any code snippet option

@@HappyCoder I found an alternative NixNote2. It's a open-source client for Evernote. It's simple and works fine. I don't want my note taking app to be complicated. I used to use Simplenote but it lacked many features.
