Surprised how much of my feelings line up with this. In recent months I've bought a Behringer 2600, a JD-08, a Behringer Pro VS Mini and a couple of other bits. I've found myself using the JD-08 FAR FAR more than I thought I would. I really like it. Sure, it does indeed have some limitations, but as my hands are small anyway, I don't find the sliders an issue. I love the clean sound and the workflow is just straightforward. You get to making new sounds within seconds, easily. As for the 2600, well I'm so glad I got one at last. It's a monster of epic proportions and frankly everything I've always wanted in a synth. Don't leave it propped up on the floor though, as stubbing your toe on it is something you REALLY don't want to do.

Nice to see my DX7 (well, TX7, I don't have the space) and JD-08 doing fairly well. I agree about the latter, while not a perfect replication of the original it does have a great sound and is a lot of fun if you can get it to work with full size sliders.

I'm still more in favor of an older JV rackmount and a decent software editor. But if they ever upgrade the OS on the JD-08 to allow single patch save/load and sysex for editing, I'd get it back out of the box and run with it.

Thank you for your videos. Helped me a great deal. Could you do one on Synthstrom Audio Deluge?

Great showcase and gear. You should check the E-Mu Xtreme Lead 2000 or Audity 2000. They kinda step it up a notch.

"get a hydrasynth" oh you tease. I'm still waiting for your hydrasynth review!

I dunno... Hydrasynth is a pretty lofty target for the Bad Gear treatment. I've never heard or read anything negative about the fool thing (except maybe the Mirror-Chekov-in-the-agony-booth price tag).
