Saw that all the time on my tours in South Korea. You'll hear a whistle blowing and when you look in that direction there will be a cop pointing. They had checkpoints throughout the country and especially in Seoul. If you don't stop you won't like what happens at the next checkpoint.

The cop is in the wrong; if there is little to no traffic they should be driving in the right lane by default, which lets other drivers pass in the left lane as needed. And as a NJ resident, I can tell you in a lot of the state you can average like 5-10 mph over the speed limit without any worry of being oulled over. If you're in the left lane going 55 (even 60) in a 55mph zone, other drivers are NOT gonna be happy.

Guy road up behind us in his big white truck, honked his horn at us even though we were already going 10kms over, then passed on a double yellow and honked all the way. My brother pulled one of these bone head moves back in the early 's. He was his usual impatient self, pulled out from behind a car, passed it on the left, and then tried to make a right hand turn in front of the same vehicle into a shopping center. As I said he tried, only he clipped the left front corner of the vehicle, which turned out to be an unmarked police car. So ..... he got a ticket with multiple offenses checked off (our police don't give you multiple tickets unless they there aren't enough items to check off on the one and then they have to resorts to writing them). this was my brothers 4th ticket ..... went to traffic court ...... ended up with his license all but suspended ..... he was only permitted to drive to work and back home (and if he had a service call away from the main office, he had to get someone from work to drive him) ..... and he had fines and court costs AND he had to take a mandatory driver retraining course, AND then retake the written and road tests AND pass them both with 100% score to get his license back with no restrictions ...... but his points stayed on his record a couple of years, so he had the pleasure of paying much, much higher insurance premiums for how many years the company required to elapse before CONSIDERING lowering his premiums.

When I was in the military, I took time to visit a lifelong friend who kinda lives out in the sticks. I happened to visit during a snowstorm and was driving cautiously through the single lane roadways. Some dick was riding my ass for miles until we passed a state trooper and the guy immediately fell back a 100 yards, the trooper flipping a U turn to pull him over was one of the most satisfying moments of my life.

I lived in two different areas where the road was closed for a while, one was while they were putting in a whole new sewer system. I had to dodge workers whose heads were barely sticking out of massive holes in the road, because how else am I going to get to and from my house for several months straight? Plus what about construction workers going into a closed road for the whole reason it's closed in the first place? Granted, this may absolutely be one of those cases of "nobody should have been on that road at all".

This is easily my favorite kind of footage. In regards to high speed driving, I don't think it's that bad if done safely - take The Autobahn, for example - however not a one of these that got pulled over were driving safely, and deserved whatever tickets they got slapped with. Good show, this season. 🙌

The autobahn is a very different environment from any road or highway in the US. There are very strict laws to what can and can't happen and everyone follows them to a T. It's simply not a good comparison to use when most people are too self centered to follow laws to begin with.

​@@proxymoxie7882but I personally feel there's a difference between speeding and simply going fast. There was a couple instances of "speeding" here where it certainly required a traffic stop, but a fair amount of these examples to me were just people utilizing an open lane on a freeway.

I agree on speeding. I think it depends on a number of circumstances. I think 100mph is too fast for the highway because there is almost no expectation for it, but if there's not too much discrepancy in speeds and drivers are communicating well, and making clear driving actions, and the weather is good, then I don't mind other people speeding. The most I'll go on the highway is 15 over, but only if the road is empty, or if the fast lane is clear (and then just for passing), or if other cars are doing about the same. I don't like to stand out.

@@nopulpapple991 same. Standing out is how you get targeted by either officers or crazy ragers. Best to avoid that; I just keep up with the flow of traffic myself. If basically everyone is going 15 over, I guess I am, too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
