It probably helps that he has so many different dances in his repertoire. He is able to dance in a way that's not to difficult for them while keeping it fun and interesting.
@JordanHunter33329 күн бұрын
@@JIYkp I know your comment is well meaning...but from my perspective, the elders were bringing the fun and interest. It was in their grace and openness and the joy that emerged when being seen and treated in a way that said, "What you know and do is interesting to ME." That was Ed's gift. Seeing, valuing, finding joy in their contribution to the moment. If we focus on the idea of "not making it too difficult for them", it is a way of othering and talking down. Although not your intention, I'm certain. 🙏

Wonderful! After 1 year practicing international folk dances, I'm convinced people should go less to gyms and dance more. Everybody should dance dance! Dance is much much beyond exercise! Dance has the power to socialise, it's beautiful, is good for the mind, to memory, to fill rhythm, to learn melodies, to find yourself in space, to know your body, feel it and to love yourself.

Agreed. I was just saying to this to my sister the other day: Dance for exercise ! And to begin at a young age so that we can grow old and still be dancing. Dance involves so much more than just the body

You meet people at the level where you find them, for example, wearing a mask while dancing with the ladies. And you are so successful in doing the dances you are taught, doing them with every sign of enjoyment. I love watching your videos. They give me hope about the state of the world. 💜
