@@miroslavklinsmann7021 Because no catcher has ever hit 50 and only 8 have ever reached 40. Its a tough postition to play with all the wear and tear. Mike Piazza is the greatest hitting catcher of all time and he reached 40 twice.

Quintana looked great...I think we can compete next year... it was the same team almost with 100 wins and then 70 something.. in the wild card next year.. thats all you need to get in.. let's go mets

Love the kid - he'd be hot for a month, then ice cold for a month, etc. - he is full of talent and promise and obviously catching all those games on the Major League level wore him down. Johnny Bench himself talked about that as well after his rookie season. You have to prep and you have to work extra hard on your conditioning to be a starting catcher in MLB. I so look forward to Alvarez's next season. LGM

Hell of a season for a rookie catcher, the hardest position in the bigs and he made it look easy. Love this kid future all star.

@@BiLLYUM_ He hit .209 with an OPS of .720 and a wRC+ of 97. He hit 25 HR which is decent but even that number should have been much higher.

Yup. But he was a 21 year old who didnt spend much time at AAA. He learned on the job so to speak. This kid is going to be a superstar by the time hes 25.

Unfortunately injury and illness derailed his career. I like how you say met fans do this all the time and youve only given one example from 15 years ago which is actually a shit example. Youre lame.
