Apparently he absolutely hated doing the acting, he got really nervous and didn't enjoy it whatsoever so they had to write his character out of the show. It's a shame really cus his delivery is hilarious!

It's sort of incredible how if you think about it, the simplicity of Karl makes him very profound. Some of the greatest amounts of joy people can experience is when they become fully aware of the present moment and don't clutter their minds with thoughts. Karl more or less explains the same thing when he's asked about the meaning of life. It's so simple, it's just to exist. That in itself is beautiful. Sure,if you talk to him about the profundity of it he'd probably lose interest, but it's just fascinating to see how something that can elude many people can be so obvious to a person who lives simply.

Those provide great relief from anxiety etc. You get involved/invested in their worlds and their personalities and, for the most part, they are (or at least come off as) pretty drama/ego free.
