The Nestor story is pretty amazing. 6 years in the minors with the Yankees. Baltimore grabs him in the rule 5 draft in 2018,only to be released that same year. Returns to the Yankees in 2019 and then is traded to Seattle only to be released by them a year later. Comes back to the Yankees in 2021 and has been great ever since

Not a Yankee fan (lifelong Sox fan) but as a fan of baseball, I appreciated Cortes and Trevino being mic'd up and allowing us to hear the conversation between pitcher and catcher and their thought process. Trevino is also a class guy for the way he carries himself; congratulating opposing hitters for their All Star game appearance. 2022 is indeed an odd time.

FOX gotta be biased for favoring the NL to win the all star game. Lol like AL hasn’t won 9 straight now. I mean look at all the talent the AL has right now. Toronto Blue Jays got Alejandro Kirk, Vladdy Guerrero Jr, Santiago Espinal, George Springer, Alek Manoah & Jordan Romano. Houston Astros got Jose Altuve, Kyle Tucker, Yordan Alvarez, Justin Verlander & Framber Valdez. Boston Red Sox got Rafael Devers, Xander Bogaerts & JD Martinez. Chicago White Sox got Tim Anderson & Liam Hendriks. New York Yankees got Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, Jose Trevino, Nestor Cortes & Gerrit Cole. Los Angeles Angels got Mike Trout & Shohei Ohtani. Detroit Tigers got Miguel Cabrera and Gregory Soto. Minnesota Twins got Luis Arraez & Byron Buxton. Seattle Mariners got Ty France and the rookie of the year Julio Rodriguez. Cleveland Guardians got Andres Jimenez, Jose Ramirez & Emmanuel Clase. Texas Rangers got Corey Seager & Martin Perez. Kansas City Royals got Andrew Benintendi. Tampa Bay Rays got Shane McClanahan. Oakland Athletics got Paul Blackburn. And the Baltimore Orioles got Jorge Lopez. I mean look around. The American League is freaking loaded with talent. Stop sleeping on them. Fast forward from 2013, some things have changed but one thing hasn’t. They still own the National League

That being said, this made me so happy there’s nothing I love more than athletes talking about the game in their lingo not just the announcers that are writers. That’s why I love analysts that are former players. They really bring out the mental beauty of the game.
