First was killing his Arch, second was implicitly killing his first family because he failed to separate work/life, and third was Movie Night. Notice how young his wife and kid are. You know, it's REALLY telling that for Red Death's "Final Arch", while everyone else had someone from their past or their longest running foe to face, Red Death had some guy that rubbed him the wrong way maybe a few days ago. Why's that? Because he killed every other Arch and foe he had ever had to the point the only one left was someone he just met. And seeing what he did to Blind Rage, it's not hard to see why.

I think Red Death is a fine exemple of classic villainy. He has honorable bad guy standards, he's a great parent, and despite being scary, RD is one heck of a great character!

This is the ideal. When your in character your a force of nature, when your on the job your a professional and when your at home, you do your damndest to make it work. But always have class.

When Red Death dives into monologues, it reminds me of the scene in the movie Shark when Captain Quint talks about the wreck of the USS Indianapolis

It's intentional. The entire episode that monologue comes from is a Jaws reference.

I love how Clancy Brown cycle thru his full vocal range for Red Death; goes from dotting father to heavy bad guy to full-on sociopath super villain… and back again. He doesn’t get the full respect that he really deserves.

"Show time!" "You want some brownies in there, too, cuddles?" "Brownies? Yes, thank you." That part is what I love about adult-focused animated stuff; you can bounce between serious action and death and all that and then to wholesome sweet moments in the blink of an eye way more naturally than you ever could in a live action setting, almost no matter how good the actors are. Also, I agree, brownies are the SHIT, no matter how much you're ready to go and kill a mf, there's always time for brownies.

The Guild was full of them. It's a holdover from when Phantomas was recruiting musicians to be in the guild and also to accompany his sousaphone playing. Red Mantle and Dragoon were Buddy Holly and Richie Valens. Once they got the date right, we saw them just before they were about to board a certain plane with The Big Bopper.

He is so wholesome and completely terrifying, I wish more villains could pull off something like this. They are either All Bad, or someone forced into a bad situation, but Red seems to genuinely enjoy his work, but is not necessarily a bad guy.
